Cosy 1-bedroom cottage next to Combe Lodge Venue

boiler off so cottage was cold, shower had no water so not working which was a major problem. No hoover or brushes to clean the floors and also no oven gloves which is a major health problems if using the oven as may get burnt. Mattress is cheap and could feel the springs so did not sleep very well. Also shower gel halved used on the side of the bath. all above very simple to correct just needs more attention to details. Shower and bed mattress soiled our visit.

Chose this cottage as we attended a wedding at Coombe Lodge. In the grounds to Coombe Lodge venue, which can be accessed just up some steps, which are not steep. Lovely character cottage, which was quiet, warm and comfortable. Secure parking. Stayed with my 90 year old mother and it was great as there are no stairs. We stayed for 3 nights and explored the lovely countryside and visited surrounding places, such as Bristol and Bath. No need for taxi as you can use the steps next to cottage to walk to the venue.

Only 2 bath towels (not bath sheets) and 1 small hand towel, which is not adequate for 3 booked adults. Past reviews have said this too so no one has addressed this. No tea- towel or oven gloves so burnt myself, trying to get a tray out of a hot oven. Also no broom and only 2 toilet rolls for 3 adults booked in for three nights. Don't like the fact Booking.Com wanted to add a further cost for a late check out (12 o'clock), when in fact the house manual stated that the latest check out time was 11.30 am.

Wonderful quaint cottage.

Nice cottage in a great location, it had everything we needed for a short stay. Plenty of space for the 3 of us, the kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of bedding available for the sofa bed in the lounge. Sofa bed was a good size. Parking available right next to the cottage and instructions on how to find it were accurate and easy to follow, it is accessed via a single track road but that wasn't a problem.

The bed in the bedroom was definitely not an 'extra large bed' as described in the listing, a 'queen' at best and not particularly comfortable, soft and lumpy unfortunately.

Bathroom needs a bit of TLC, when we went to use the grill pan it was filthy still with solidified fat on bottom and grill still not cleaned

It hadn't been cleaned properly, there were hairs in the bathroom sink and on the toilet, it smelt, there were loads of flies inside the property (in October!), the mattress was poor, there weren't enough towels, 2 for 4 people, empty bottle of shampoo in the bathroom....not loved or looked after. The instructions to get there are also out of date and nobody answered number they gave me. I flagged that it was dirty and was asked to contact their head of cleaning via email, it's not my job to manage their cleaning team.

Very convenient for wedding ar blagdon lodge. Lovely location
