Beautiful wee cottage in the heart of Rothbury with everything you need for a short staycation

The Internet is not great but i am happy without it, the hubby not so but didnt do him any harm

Everything! Absolutely beautiful feels like a home from home , the decor is so beautifully done, the place is fully equipped with more than enough , they have thought of absolutely everything, we have stayed in Rothbury a lot but chater cottage absolutely makes our stay the best !

Room to bright early morning

A very cute and comfortable cottage that has been upgraded to all the modern amenities. A perfect place for 2 people. The location is amazing and very well connected to public transport. The river is 2 mins walk from the property and had some very nice walking trails. The property is right on the village high street so can easily get the basic necessities and had some restaurants and pubs nearby. The property in itself was great. Kitchen was well equipped and the bathroom was beautifully done and had floor heating too. Bed was comfy. Would 100% recommend and would definitely come back!

Not really a big negative but the WiFi didn’t work. Gave me more time with my book!

Location, facilities.

Too cold downstairs and upstairs mezzanine bedroom was too warm as all the heat rises. Wouldn't stay again as ceiling height upstairs too restrictive.

The courtyard and downstairs were lovely, great location, kitchen well equipped with washing machine and dishwasher and lots of crockery. Lots of character and nicely furnished with comfy bed.

It was quite cold as only central heating in the bathroom and electric fire in lounge. The steep pitch of the roof on the mezzanine which was very low on one side, made it difficult for one of the couple (of average height) to get in and out of bed . Plug sockets weren’t accessible for same reason unless on your hands and knees (an extension would have been useful) .
