Beautiful Grade II Listed Gatehouse in Great Location

The decor and facilities were excellent, very much in keeping with the old property. The hosts had thought of everything and provided some excellent quality touches; towels, bedding, tea and coffee etc. They were communicative and answered any questions that I had. Excellent experience.

Parking was little tricky. It was not very expensive to pay for parking during the week, but you needed to cross over the main road to find a space. Not far, maybe 5 minutes away but not on the doorstep. Bearing in mind it was at the entrance to a Cemetery, it was a little noisy than I was expecting at night!

The interior of the house is nice, clean and cosy.

We did not feel safe in that location. The path to the apt was dark and quiet. When we returned to the apartment on the first night. There were 3 men who suddenly came out from the small path. Luckily my relatives sent us back that night so there were a few of us.

Location suited a family event in the city. I was able to walk to the location easily and the Cemetery walk was interesting. It was tranquil to be able to hear the river running close to the property

It was difficult to see the key code pad in the dark and so some type of illumination would help. I also experienced difficulty operating the main shower valve which meant I didn't take a shower on the second day.

Wonderful, interesting location. Certainly causes some intrigue when saying to people we were staying in the gate house of a cemetery. But what a beautiful and peaceful cemetery it is! Unfortunately as we were there for other reasons, we didn't get to explore properly but did walk through on our way to our destination and it looked lovely. There is work going on to restore the whole park area and would certainly book again to explore more. The property is very in keeping with the surroundings and was very clean and tidy. Beds were comfy and plenty of kitchen bits and bobs to make our own breakfast etc. Stream running under the property which sounds lovely when the windows are open.Close to a high street (2 min walk) with a few bars/Tesco/Costa/take aways etc. We requested a parking permit and didn't have any issues parking near the property.

Nothing that was the fault of the property. It was a warm couple of days and we found it warm overnight even with the windows open. There is currently building work going on at the front of the property which started about 8am but we are early risers so didn't bother us. Not sure what time it finished as we were back late in the evenings. We found the builders to be very polite and they even apologized as we were leaving in case they had disturbed us too much.

Loved the style of the property and how the owner has made an effort to make it fit in with the history and the area. Took lots of effort to communicate effectively beforehand and give us what we need. Cosy rooms and nice extra features. Good location with things to do nearby as well as good connections into Sheffield. Would recommend to anyone that likes accomodation with some character

Parking near the property was a little tricky but the property provided permits which made it slightly easier. We were also at the property in winter and arrived quite late so it did feel a little dark at first, one or two more lights around would have made it still cosy but lighter

A beautifully decorated and unique stay. I loved the way the place was styled and the heritage listed building on a quiet street over a small running stream. The facilities were decorated in a 1930s ish style, and the comfort of the place was excellent. Very spacious, on a quiet street, but literally at the doorstep of Ecclesal street. Really loved our stay! The host was beyond helpful and the area was great.
