Extraordinary experience to stay in this well equipped room and to dine in the great hall as well as to have breakfast in the morning room of the tower.

We enjoyed our stay.

Like going back in time. Wonderful place, both setting & the lovely period furnishings & decor. Comfortable bed and plenty of hot water for showers. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Small decanter of sherry in the room was a nice touch. Despite previous reviews the approach road wasn’t an issue. Owners were friendly and eager to help with anything. Fascinating history of the castle and information provided.

We didn’t mind but no TV in room. No bath, but not enough room for one. Not easy to walk into Dalbeattie. Local taxi not always available (Sunday).

Quirky & quaint. Evening meal was satisfying and filling & nicely served. The sherry in the room was a nice touch. Option of having breakfast in the castle or in your room.

The room could have been a little cleaner as there was dust on surfaces & mould in the shower.

Tobias was extremely welcoming and friendly. Place was easy to find with plenty of parking. Room was very charming and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with generous portions. Room service for breakfast is optional, but you're missing out if you don't have it in the morning room which is a superb space. Sadly we missed out on dining in the evening (which from the local area, we would recommend) but the menu looked interesting and would likely have been great based on our experience with breakfast.

Room was a little draughty and heating a bit underwhelming, but this is a historic/heritage building so can be expected. Think our floor could have done with a hoover and the shower a bit of a deep clean, but the room was generally cleaned to a reasonable standard otherwise.

Hosts were absolutely amazing, breakfast was of good quality and well presented!

Not a fault but a few potholes on road but it is shared access and used by local farmer so not a big deal but just be careful

Location very picturesque, certainly unusual to stay in the grounds of a castle with such history and character. Rooms reflected the history and made it very special. Sunken garden has great style..look out for the peacock!

The single track down to the castle. Many potholes and a challenge if you meet anyone coming the other way!

Very relaxing stop . Room and location stunning and so much history. Host thoughtful and welcoming and happy to talk. Thoroughly recommend a stay here. Wished we were staying longer
