The Wanderlust Guest House & Safari

Very friendly and helpful owner and entire staff. From pickup at the airport to drop off at the train station and throughout our stay they were always available to provide assistance or drinks and food. The chillout lounge area with views of the fort was excellent to wind down in after walking around the city.

A few little things but nothing that spoilt our stay. Some unfinished electric cables in the room. Minimal toiletries and toilet roll. Occasional loss of power to the A/C.

Padam was an excellent host. He arranged transport from the station and there was no extra charge even though the train was 3 hours late. He also allowed us to stay in the room after check out time because we had an evening train out of Jaisalmer. The room was very clean and comfortable and food in the restaurant tasty. We were able to pay for everything by card which is handy.

If you think you might want 2 beers ( say one before dinner and one with), best to order both at once, they will bring the second after you finish the first. This is because they only seem to buy them in as they are ordered so there is quite a delay.

Very good stay in this hotel. Padam is very accommodating. From picking me up from the airport to check in he’s the best. Hotel accomodation is very good value and clean. They serve good breakfast too.

The owner is very helpful and gives a very positive vibe to it. Not pushing on business and giving nice advice and address. The restaurant is good and the view is nice.

My husband and I really loved our stay here. Padam and the rest of his staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming and unobtrusive. There is a respectful calm here. The location is perfect, sitting below sunset point, the guest house is just out of the hustle of the streets below the fort. Everything is in walking distance and there is a fantastic view of the fort. The food is also very good, we especially liked the breakfast pancakes. If we come back to Jaisalmer, we will definitely stay at the Wanderlust again.

Calm, clean, quiet, spacious with lovely roof terrace. Host warm and helpful without intruding. Wonderful place to stay!

Padam, the owner, was a wonderful host. The guest house itself was clean and conformable, with delicious food, and an easy 15-minute walk to the fort. There is also a fantastic sunset spot up some stairs just behind Wanderlust. Padam also organized an unforgettable camel safari - the highlight of our trip for our whole family! Highly recommended.

Being in Padams' home was the Best expierience which we had in India till this time. He pick-up us from railway station at night with no problem. Arange for us all what we need-safari at the desert for good money. We go on sunset with Nabu who was very nice and responsible men. He show us not known part of the desert:) and day after took us to Bada Bagh by jeep. The room is very clean,shower with hot water,comfortable bed. On the top of house there is great restaurant,where you can eat tasty breakfast and dinner prepared by Padam. There is nothing totaly what we didn't like...Padam is great host, we recommend his house with all our hearts:) There is peacefull there what is not so obviuse in India

That we could not stay longer

Thank you Padam and all the Wanderlust Guesthouse staff! This is our fifth time in India traveling as a family with young kids and we can say with all genuine confidence that Wanderlust is our favourite place to stay in India. We first visited over four years ago. The food in the restaurant is outstanding. Some of the best we have tried! Thank you to Roshan and Rafiq for your great service at mealtimes. And don't be shy to ask Padam to surprise you with a local traditional Jaisalmer dish. This time we are visiting during the summer months and while it is hot outside it is comfortable at the guesthouse with AC and a very clean bathroom. The rooftop common space overlooking Jaisalmer and the Fort is a great place to relax and take in the Golden City. And if you haven't done a camel safari in India yet this is by far the best experience in Jaisalmer. Thank you to the desert and camel team; Nabhu, Hakkam and Shambu. See you again soon!

We loved it all!

This was my favourite place to stay during my time in India. Originally I came for three nights and ended up staying almost a week :) The rooms are spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated - plus they really look like they do in the pictures. Everyone was so welcoming, attentive but never pushy. I didn't do a camel safari (not a big fan of camel rides), but spent an evening in the desert. The place you go to is in the middle of nowhere, so you really feel that you're in the desert. Jaisalmer is small, so you can easily walk to all places of interest within town from the guesthouse. It's located outside of the fort, so you can sit on the rooftop, enjoy some food or drink and the view of the fort. The value for money is exceptional in my opinion, so you can't go wrong with staying there :)
