"Loved it!"

10.0

Everything about the Casia Lodge and Ranch was welcoming and inviting. We went there for our first kid-free vacation since we had our first 5 years ago and we loved it. The hotel is luxurious in an understated and cozy way; it's beautiful but still true to its ranch roots. The food is incredible, the hot tub under the bright stars is relaxing, and the theater room is so nice after a day of being outside.

"World class small boutque hotel offers exceptional aduts only lodging, gourmet food in a stunning setting,"

10.0

Nestled in one of the most scenic valleys in Washington state is this marvelous small boutique hotel and retreat for adults 18 years and older. Located on a large property outside Twisp, it offers a magical experience to those who value beauty, variety, relaxation, privacy, peace and quiet and gourmet food. Owned and managed by its hard working, hands on, award winning chef and his lovely wife, they see to it that their guests have an exceptional experience and offer value at reasonable rates. From the moment you set foot in the lobby and look out the large windows over the valley and be greeted by the friendly staff you'll know you've found a true hidden gem. Each of the rooms is unique in decor and furnishings which you can see and chose from on their website. Ours had a real wood burning fireplace and a peaceful deck, huge comfy bed and top notch toiletries. There are a number of cozy spaces throughout the building with sofas, chairs and accessories to lounge and relax. Games of all kinds, books, binoculars, blankets to warm you in fall and winter, many unique features to make your stay fun and battery charging. They have a pool, hot tub, sauna, fire pits, chairs scattered outside to gaze at the hills and fields, walking trails, horse stables if you ride, stocked fishing pond in you like to fish, a movie room, pool table, really fun stuff! Off the lobby is a small English pub for drinks and food plus a happy hour. Across the way is the dining room including view tables in the enclosed veranda. The menu for all food is simply outstanding, gourmet and delicious. I splurged for a Wagu steak that was one of the best I've ever eaten with unique house specialty potato you will not find anywhere else. Breakfast which is included, is curated with local meats, cheeses, homemade granola, fresh fruits, pastries, two kinds of yogurt, hard boiled eggs etc. etc. exceptionally good. Finally something I always appreciate, hot coffee and tea available all day and out early in the morning. Know that your experience here will vary with the weather, in the summer it is hot, in the winter cold and snowy, spring and fall more moderate. Located nearby, the towns of Winthrop and Mazama and Twisp. The area is famous for hiking and outdoor recreation year round and if you have the time part of the stunning "Cascade Loop" drive, one of the most scenic in North America. We plan on returning to Casia yearly from now on. Check out their website and book directly for the best rates.

Casia Lodge is stunning, warm, and ceaselessly inviting. It's a beautifully appointed, comfortable, quiet, smaller lodge with the kindest, most attentive care and service, a spectacular location just outside of Twisp, WA, that will take your breath away, and a truly fabulous restaurant... that also includes amazing options for vegetarians. The comfortable places to relax, the embracing antique furnishings and appointments, the hot tub and pool, the additional spaces for restoration, and the small number of rooms makes this place feel like home. Even like family. Thank you for that embrace, Casia!

"Right On-time Respite"

10.0

My wife and I spent one wonderful night at Casia Lodge and Ranch as part of an epic 22-day road trip. Our visit to Casia was right on time, as we needed a respite from our whirlwind travels. It was just the perfect dose of relaxation, reflection, and recharge to get us ready to hit the road again. The staff was amazing, taking care of our every desired need but not pestering us when we just wanted to take it easy. Our room was lovely, having a large great room just outside it. While the great room was open to all guests, we had it to ourselves. We enjoyed picking apples and then sitting on the lawn to watch the sunset over the mountains. We had a late lunch, so we declined dinner, which the staff was easygoing about. Instead, we opted for coffee and dessert. The seasonal cake we had was amazing, and we understand it was made by a local 23-year-old lady. What a talent! We would highly recommend Casia to anyone wanting to get away for a bit. I know we will be back the next time we are in the area.

"Fine experience not luxury"

6.0

Surprised this hotel has as high of a rating as it does. Upon arrival there is no bellhop or help with luggage property does not have an elevator. Minimal staff only one gal to be found upon check in. Single metal key for the room. We booked on Hilton points are were assigned unit 8/cedar - their smallest. A queen bed on a very old bed frame which is pretty wood that no doubt fits the rustic vibe.. but guest donโ€™t want a rustic bed. This should be a modern comfort. We booked two nights and left after one night purely because of the bed being hard and creaky. A bummer for celebrating an anniversary. Our room had the high frequency mouse plug ins and in the hall just outside our room and on our patio were some mouse traps. Right against our patio they had grape vines growing. They were attracting a lot of bees, birds, and Iโ€™m sure thatโ€™s why they have a mouse problem. All the little grape treats sitting around right up against the building. Dinner was very good and service was good. Hot tub had brown wear and tear on tiles and around jets which made it look very dirty. Hot tub needs to be retiled and new jets put in. We booked horse back riding but then it was cancelled as the horses would be gone for winter. A bit surprising since October is high season for this area for larches and hiking. Property is very tired, wooden decks need resurfacing to avoid splinters and loose nails. Very dated small bathroom with hard water build up on the shower fixtures. Towels, toilet paper, etc. are low quality. Small luxury hotels of the world award is surprisingโ€ฆ would appreciate if Hilton contacts me for a refund of my points.

"It's not just a stay, it's an experience"

10.0

Today marks the end of a 4 day, 3 night experience at the Casia Ranch in Twisp Washington. As you approach the lodge, you pass some corrals which seems expected, as it's a ranch, but then you pass these intriguing light posts that you don't expect to be there. You might get the sense that you're entering a time warp to a time that didn't involve the hustle and bustle we are plagued with now. Perhaps you are. The lodge is a rustic structure consisting of 13 rooms, a restaurant and bar, a pool, a hot tub, multiple decks, lush green grass and amazing views. The bar has to be what I would expect a pub to look like on a cobble street in Ireland. The restaurant has large windows to provide views of the mountain scenery that surrounds your getaway. We ate in the restaurant all three nights and I'm kicking myself that we never ate outside, cause there is a beautiful deck with tables and chairs. Luckily, I'm still living, so I will ask to do that when I come back. If you can find your way to the downstairs, you will find a sauna, another little unmanned bar with a pool table, foosball table and a home theater setup tucked away in the corner. On the other side of the building, you will find a large great room, with vaulted ceilings, another bar area and large windows that would be perfect for a corporate retreat. There was a wedding dinner held there during our stay. In short, I started looking for Beth and Rip, cause I wondered if I was staying at the Yellowstone which had been transplanted from Montana to Washington. The staff was incredible. Unlike so many businesses run by kids these days, this business is run by adults. Our server had to be in her 30's and had years of food industry experience. Whether you want a cocktail or a mocktail, she's a great guide for everything on the menu. The head chef created masterful dishes that were unlike anything I'd ever tasted. If they are making the smoked salmon cheese fritters, get them! We did private dining the first two nights, with the food served family style. There was more to eat than we were capable. The flavors and variety was unique and some of the dishes were from produce on the ranch. You can catch a trout from their pond and have the kitchen cook it up. We didn't do that. I will add it to my list for next time. The lodge arranged a guided river experience where I was crowned the fish slayer with 12 pink salmon and a 25 pound King Salmon caught and released. They also arranged a half day lake fishing experience on a nearby private pond brimming with trout. The room didn't have a TV and I never missed it. While I had great service the entire time, I tried to keep my phone in my pocket and look up and appreciate the beauty that surrounded me. If you're coming to Casia, try to remember, this isn't about the stay, it's about the experience.
