Such a nice resort, and so much for my kiddo to do! We had a blast at the arcade and waterpark! The rooms were very well maintained and the front office staff was amazing! I plan on coming back every year!
USWe stayed one night because our daughter was playing in a tournament at Thumper Ponds. The hotel was very conveniently located next to the clubhouse and overlooked the golf course. The hotel was largely fine if a bit dated/worn in parts. It looked beautiful from the outside, but was oddly dark inside, e.g. hallways and even the room. It was also quiet, good for getting rest but also it felt a little deserted. Even our daughter, who'd never seen the movie, said it a little like the Shining. Dining, especially breakfast, was inconvenient because the hotel restaurant didn't open until 11 am, and there wasn't a quick grab area in the hotel. Otter Tail is a small town so nothing was really far from the hotel. The best part was the waterpark. Although it certainly wasn't a big fancy resort waterpark, it had a fun tube flume and water slide too. The railings were rusty so there was a thought about tetanus but not unusual in a lot of waterparks. The price was fair (especially through Orbitz), we enjoyed the pool (the waterpark portion closed at 8), and got a good night's sleep. We would stay there again.
Looking on the web site they have a breakfast menu, once we had checked in we found no breakfast was available on weekdays only weekends. We were given a handicap room which we don't need as I am 6 4. When the breakfast was discussed the receptionist became rude
The room was convenient for my daughter and her friends to have their own space and the grounds are beautiful. The watersides weren’t on consistently with their posted hours, so there were many hours that they could not be enjoyed. The hotel itself was pretty outdated and their elevator shook quite a bit.
Family vacation, fun area to enjoy. Golf course is beautiful and Willie T's was a nice treat for a quality meal.
Besides shopping areas being 30-60 minutes away the resort is as beautiful
Our room was in need of some tlc. Not sure they clean very well in between guests. The end tables by the bed were dirty. The jetted tub ( which is why I booked this room) didn’t work. Told the front desk, she really didn’t care. Overall the resort is hardly that. It’s a hotel that has a beautiful surrounding, but needs lots of improvements for the money.
Like: The restaurant / bar Not Like: This place needs updating. The hot tub wasn't open the entire weekend we were there. The pool was freezing. The game room was like a sauna. The stairway and areas around it leading up to the tubing slides had litter (garbage) in several areas.
