The Local - St. Augustine

This is a sweet place; it's pretty close to the bridge over to old town, so convenient, but quiet nevertheless. The pool was very clean and private from any roads or parking lot. A great place to cool off and relax. Walk down the back street a short distance to The Conch restaurant. What a fun surprise! We also loved the white sand beach at Anastasia State Park, which is close by

The room was on the small side, and coffee was downstairs in the community room, not in-room. That's also where you pick up fresh towels. Staff is off site, but very quick to pick up the phone and answer questions.

No clean sheets or towels were brought to us, facility was not very clean, not all outlets were functioning, pool was dirty and unkept.

The property and rooms were clean.

Our windows were nailed shut.

Location was very convenient, walking distance to the old city and the Amphitheater. Check in was a bit confusing, but the staff I talked to on the phone were very helpful. The room was small but had everything I needed. Great hot water and water pressure. Would definitely stay here again.

Wi-Fi would have been nice. A bit more direction on the check in process. After I had to call for help, I helped another person with their check in. I did like the coffee machine and water/ice machine, just again a bit more direction would be helpful. Check out process very easy. Chairs outside the rooms would be nice.

The location to Old Town was perfect, the beach wasn't too far either.

Check in process was different than I have experienced. However once I realized how it worked it was not a problem. My only recommendation is that the key box was under cover to keep all dry in inclement weather.
