The Local - St. Augustine

The place was very cheap and located close enough to walk to the historic city center.

The check-in process was incredibly frustrating. We got a lot of information beforehand that didn’t really match and we still had to call their office to complete the digital check-in. Overall it took over 30 mins to check-in. The place is directly on a very busy road. The rooms are quite small and they weren’t cleaned properly. The rooms were also quite smelly. Ironically the only information that can be found in the room is how to tip the cleaners. No information about WiFi or check-out or anything. Only when I texted them the next morning where we should leave the key they sent us information, but only once we had left. The place is fine if you want to spend as little time as possible at your accommodation.

Loved the updated retro vibe. We were very at home and comfortable. Thank you for the coffee vending available 24 hrs.

We were surprised by the locked lobby and check in by phone. Once we were able to reach someone by phone and get our key, we were fine.

When we got to our room there was hair EVERYWHERE! On pillows, bed, sink, tags from past guests on the floor, dust on the lamps, the accent pillow was dingy. There were stains on the pillows as well.

I loved the retro vibe of the property. It was decorated really cute and the room was very clean! We had a queen size standard room and there was enough space for my husband and I. If you’re traveling with children, I would definitely get a bigger room.

The mattresses was very uncomfortable. It felt like an old spring mattress. They really should invest in new mattresses or a memory foam topper.
