The location is a bit hard to find there outside of the building looks like it’s derelict. And the heating was on full all night

It was nothing like some of the other negative reviews. The rooms were exactly what you saw on the galley section on the hotel profile page. The negative reviews need looking into as the hotel was nowhere near what those people were saying about it. The girls on reception were great and helpful.

The location and no lift. It t is a 25 min walk to the centre. However, it was a last minute booking and the only option and it was a decent stay. Will stay again just not with a group as the distance is too much for elderly people.

Booked a last minute 2 night stay, yes it was cheap but certainly not cheerful! Imagine the inbetweeners movie, when the bus stops at a hotel and everyone on the bus is wondering who the unlucky are to be staying there…yep, that was us when we saw just the outside. Damp stains on the ceilings visible from outside. Old dirty sofas scattered around. The letterbox is falling off the front door as you walk in. Greeted by receptionist who’s clearly really happy to be at work today, given the ground rules and the code to get in the door later as there won’t be any staff around. Got the keys, find our room which was at the end of a really musty smelling corridor. The Yale lock on the door was loose and moved as you turn the key. The room was freezing, the window was wide open. Had to stand on a chair and climb on the desk to attempt to close the window to find it had no latches. Pulled it shut but as soon as the room door is opened the window opens again. En-suite window was the same We were given 1 towel and a bath mat for 2 people. 1 very flat pillow each. Bedding seemed clean but the cover didn’t fit the duvet properly and you could see the duvet was ripped and stuffing coming out. The room was not clean, surfaces were dirty. Bright orange Duct tape on the floor between the room and the en-suite. Wallpaper literally hanging off, loose plug socket. We didn’t stay for the second night!

The location.

It looked run down from the outside. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and could actually feel the springs through it. I asked if it could be changed and was told the hotel was fully booked ( unlikely as we only heard one other room and where our room is, we would have heard of there was more occupants) and might not be an option with only 2 members of staff working. It wasn't changed for the second night. Lead to uncomfortable back pain as a direct result. Not exactly what you expect when you pay a lot of money to stay in the first place. The shower was tiny and kept banging the wall when washing my hair. The shower curtain was black so made the shower dark even though the light was on and it leaked out the side of the shower. The heating (radiator) was being fixed as we arrived but the room was roasting the full weekend. Uncomfortable warm at times.
