Galapagos Planet Hotel

The hotel is quaint and very clean. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I think there could be more supplies in the rooms like a mirror in the room and places to set your personal items on. All of the arrangements were supported very well by the staff.

This hotel was booked for us as part of a travel package. We were warned ahead of time that it wasn’t the mainland and things are a little different. It was a pleasant surprise. The room albeit very small is clean and had a small fridge. We were met by our tour leader who told us how to get hot water from the shower and also that there would be water available for our water bottles (which there was). It felt very safe. Our AC was extremely efficient. Loved that they had an area in the back for us to hang up our swim suits. Breakfast every day was provided. And the little restaurant next door was great. Would definitely come back.

Room was clean, and climate controlled. Lobby provides ample fresh, filtered water. WiFi signal is very strong and no issues with hot water. Upon check in is when I found out they only take cash payment and there was no pay-ahead option when I booked the room through United travel as with another property I used. They would not take a credit card (said they couldn't yet signage and travel listing says they do). Had to go to an ATM and pay fees on both ends to have enough cash to pay for my reservation. My reservation was "breakfast included", and when checking in I was told what time and where the breakfast buffet would be, but on both days there was NO breakfast available and I asked why, and was not given much of an answer other than, the restaurant didn't prepare it. Uh, okay...Pool area noisy at night as there is an outdoor bar/restaurant adjacent to it playing lout music, but not a large seating area. The staff were pleasant but not exceptionally helpful or friendly. Pay in cash, and don't hang up any wet clothes anywhere visible from the street side (there is a drying area outside in the back). I would not choose to stay at this property again. Overpriced, amenities advertised not available and the property is up a few blocks from the main strip and on the "slow" or "townie" side of town near the Naval Base gate entry.

The property is a short walk from the airport, restaurants and cafes. The staff are friendly and welcoming, especially Susie- she is great and extremely helpful. The hotel itself is clean. The only downside was that our room had a strong musky smell, which can be linked with mould, mildew and poor ventilation. The smell is so potent that it hits you in the face as soon as the door to the room opens. It’s all I could smell while sleeping- I was quite worried about our health while staying there. Given this, we limited the time we spent in the room. We were out doing activities each day anyway, so not a huge problem. I’m unsure if all the rooms are this way- perhaps we just landed a bad room. However, based off this experience, I would not stay there again. It’s quite dangerous to one’s health be inhaling mould spores.

The pictures shown on trip advisor for this hotel were clearly taken when it first opened, because trust me, it doesn’t look like that now. The bedroom is an ok size, but there isn’t any room for a kettle or coffee machine. There’s a fridge and a table with drawers that won’t lock, so there’s no safe. The air con system is noisy and sits directly above one of the 2 beds. The bathroom is very small and you don’t have room to leave any of your toiletries in the room. Our sink also had a very large crack in it. The shower isn’t that powerful, but it does have hot water. There are no lifts, so you will have to lug your case up and down the stairs. Lots of people complained about the noise, as they found the walls to be very thin. This I have to say was not a problem for us, although one of our party complained about a noisy generator in the middle of the night. Breakfast was very basic and without doubt the worst we had in all of our 2 week holiday around Ecuador and Peru. The only positive being the offer of a freshly made omelette. Again, don’t be fooled by the Tripadvisor photo. Location wise, the hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the front

Clean & well maintained hotel. Staff is very helpful & caring.. Centrally located. Free breakfast & you can also order eggs however you want. This hotel should open their own restaurant. /cafe. Many restaurant options. In town. Taxis are $2.00 if you do not wish to walk.

Neat place on San Cristobal Island on the Galapagos Islands. Staff very nice. Free breakfast included. What a lovely Island this is and Hotel!! Very close to the airport. Lovely small town of 9,000 people. Fun just to walk around and see the seals and wildlife! Beautiful harbor and lots of nice restaurants, especially if you enjoy seafood!! Had three nights out here with a small group tour. Just wish I would have had another two days out there! 15 islands there and only 4 inhabited. Don't miss the chance if your in Ecuador to not go out to the Galapagos!!

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel, breakfast was delicious every morning, it was clean, staff were wonderful and super friendly and helpful. It’s within walking distance from the boardwalk and downtown area. Sure it’s very basic and simple, but who cares when you are there for the fun part of the Galápagos Islands.
