"The Ikos Portopetro is simply perfect"

10.0

The Ikos Portopetro is simply perfect - beautiful resort, great location right by the sea, excellent food and an incredibly friendly team. We felt at home right from the start and enjoyed every moment. Absolutely recommendable - we will definitely be back! Special thanks to Anastasia Sukretna who made our holiday an outstanding experience.

"Beautiful hotel - best staff!"

10.0

Best hotel, best staff, wonderful food. We have been here twice and loved every minute. Daniela, the deluxe desk responsible is the very best, we were so happy that she was there the second time we came. She made sure our stay was perfect, always checked in on us and was just a delight. Eva, the manager of the market is amazing, Eleftheria as well, Mohammed at the entrance is a gem, Eli in the buggies as well, …. and so many more! thank you all so much. The hotel grounds and the infrastructure are beautiful, but the people are the ones that make it unforgettable. We enjoyed every restaurant, the DJs and live music and our three year old was super happy too! 100% recommend.

"A stay of high hopes and mixed emotions at Ikos Porto Petro"

8.0

After many wonderful stays at Ikos Andalusia, we were genuinely excited to experience Ikos Porto Petro for the first time. This trip was particularly special, as we were treating our elderly parents to a well-deserved week in the sun. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was every bit as polished as we’ve come to expect from Ikos. The reception was warm, professional, and seamless — pure five-star. The food and drink were, as always, exceptional: understated luxury, impeccable presentation, and that signature Ikos attention to detail that keeps us coming back. However, the rooms were where the experience began to falter. Like many guests, we booked via a third party - in our case, Travel Republic - reserving one “promo” room and one superior double with a garden view. Having stayed multiple times at Ikos Andalusia, we understood “promo” to mean a standard room at a promotional rate, not a lesser category. After investigating the Travel Republic website, it does in fact state: “This accommodation is elegant, modern, and fashionable and with a furnished terrace and private garden. Views of the resort gardens are refreshing from the rooms.” That description sounds amazing - exactly the sort of understated luxury we’ve come to associate with Ikos. However, looking at the Ikos website upon our return, a “Double Room” is described as: “A contemporary, elegant room, offering a bright and welcoming sanctuary with a verdant private garden and furnished terrace for two. Savour views of the lush Ikos gardens through floor-to-ceiling windows, and enjoy an ambience of understated luxury. Features adapted facilities for people with reduced mobility.” There was no clear way for us to know this referred to a room with an adjoining door, which unfortunately allowed significant noise from the neighbouring room to flood in. Nor did the view match the “lush Ikos gardens” suggested in the description or imagery. When I raised this with reception, I was politely but firmly told that all “promo” rooms were of this type and that the matter should be taken up with our travel agent. That response was disappointing. We’d hoped for a sense of care and ownership of the issue, not deflection. Day one of our holiday was spent living out of suitcases, waiting to hear if we might be moved to another room, which ultimately wasn’t possible. In the end, we decided to stay put and make the best of it, though small frustrations lingered - from my wife having to sit on the bathroom floor to dry her hair (stool provided once we asked for one), to the awkward experience of being refused a Havana 7 rum in the lobby bar after enjoying the same drink freely at the beach bar. Being told, in front of new acquaintances, that “only deluxe guests can have premium drinks” was unnecessarily embarrassing. We’ve always admired Ikos for delivering a sense of relaxed luxury - where every guest feels special, not just those in the higher room categories. That’s what sets the brand apart. But this time, something in that magic was missing. Ikos Porto Petro remains a beautiful resort, and the staff were, for the most part, gracious and professional. But we left wondering - was it worth the extra cost? And after four stays with Ikos, would we return again? We’re not sure.

"Beautiful hotel, amazing food – but a few niggles!"

8.0

We recently stayed at this beautiful Ikos resort and, as always, the location, views and food were absolutely amazing. However, our stay was unfortunately let down by our room. We’d booked a promo room (having stayed in one before at another Ikos) and assumed it just meant a promotional price. It turns out it was actually an adaptive room with a joining door. The room was set up for accessibility needs – which is great to see, but it wasn’t ideal for us, especially as we could hear our neighbours quite clearly through the connecting door! Let’s just say earplugs became our new best friends for the week. When we raised it with the hotel, we were told we couldn’t be moved and that the room type was stated on the website, and that Travel Republic should have made this clear. Unfortunately, this wasn’t mentioned anywhere on their site when booking. The garden view description also made us smile as it was more a view of some well worn grass than lush gardens! We did have a couple of other minor issues during our stay, it just wasn’t quite the same experience we’ve had at other Ikos resorts. That said, the hotel itself is stunning, the staff work incredibly hard, and the food and drink really amazing. We still love Ikos, but next time we’ll definitely double check the room type before booking and maybe pack the earplugs just in case!

"Beautiful Porto Petro"

10.0

Our 2nd stay at PP….everything was up to Ikos standard….location, atmosphere, facilities, food, drinks etc however, as is mentioned again and again in reviews, the staff and the level of service they seem to ‘effortlessly’ provide is at another level. This applies to the WHOLE Ikos PP team, thank you one and all. Also a special shout out for our fab concierge Nicolo, who was a delight to deal with, super attentive and responsive, checking in with us daily, kind, friendly and so helpful. Others, Julia and Ionna at Beach Club restaurant, Viktoria and her team at adult deluxe pool and Svetlana on reception, our cleaning lady and turn down lady, thank you ladies. Buggy drivers, bell boys, ground staff….all special people, you made our holiday memorable ❤️

"Surely the jewel in the IKOS crown."

10.0

Our first trip to Porto Petro, our 5th visit to an IKOS resort in 12 months so we’re well versed in what to expect. On arrival, this one really packs a punch. More a resort than a hotel, the landscape, scenery, setting and architecture is simply stunning. Set across 60 acres, over our 5 day stay we found a new walk and new view every day. Admittedly, we did have a few settling in aspects which once brought to the attention of the concierge were noted and acted upon. Service, is it up there with Oceania? For us, no, but is anywhere? Stylistic wise, does it give the same vibe as Andalusia? Probably not. But there is something quite spectacular about Porto Petro. If you’ve mobility challenges and are concerned about the size of the resort; don’t be, the buggy service is readily available. The service at all the restaurants was great, we were well taken care of, and the international mix of staff was welcomed. A friendly face was always just around the corner. On the surface it looks like there won’t be enough space by the pools, but there was always loungers no matter what time of the day. The coves and sea swimming here are superb, the best of any IKOS we’ve been to. Our room was delightful, overlooking both the adult pool and one of the coves. The food as always was top notch, as were the drinks. I would say this resort is definitely one if you’re looking to travel with small children, there were plenty of them and I can only imagine this will increase with the introduction of a splash pad area next year. We didn’t leave the resort as we only stayed for 5 nights however the marina setting is stunning and the views from the restaurants are amazing. With Ouzo being introduced next year it will be another IKOS restaurant that we missed from Porto Petro. We’d like to mention Manos, one of the IMOS ambassadors who took such good care of us and we really enjoyed chatting to. Whilst we’ve already booked Andalusia for next summer we will almost centrally retune to Porto Petro either in the spring or autumn. Thank you for the most amazing stay and end to our 2025 holidays.

"Relaxing Getaway Made Perfect by the Ikos Team and Maya"

10.0

We had such a wonderful stay at Ikos! Everything from the beautiful resort grounds to the excellent service made our vacation truly relaxing. A special thank you to Maya, our concierge, who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed — she was absolutely amazing and made our stay extra special. We really enjoyed all the amenities and dining options. It would be nice if the resort offered smaller ebikes and maybe a pickleball court in the future, but honestly, we had such a great time that it wasn’t really missed. Can’t wait to come back!

"So good we have already booked for 2026"

10.0

Return customers, hoping for an equivalent experience to 2023. Blown away by the improvements. I have read all of this seasons reviews and concur with the positives and to be honest find the negative reviews to be frankly hilarious. All I can imagine is people were cynically writing negative reviews in the hope that Ikos would give them a discount. So why was it so good and why have we already rebooked for 2026. 1. Location, facilities, natural beauty and space are key. This is the biggest Ikos resort, with the fewest rooms. It is never crowded and always a sun bed, table or place to relax 2. Staff are incredible. Every single person, whether a cleaner, porter, waiter or life guard is engaging and engaged. Without fail they seem genuinely pleased to be here. Hats off to the Ikos head office team, trainers and management in resort. You have fantastic people here and that made our holiday. As an example on one day by the pool we were offered drinks every 30 minutes and on top of this- cocktails, donuts, ice lollies, granita, pineapple, glasses cleaning and more 3. Rooms were perfect, large, clean and comfortable with incredible views. Loved the turn down service and constantly filled mini bar. 4. Concierge service. Wow. Nothing too much trouble. Everything sorted in an instant. Can’t imagine better service anywhere. 5. Food and beverages. 5 bars, 6 restaurants and dinner by the sea. Choice was amazing and never boring. Fresh food, beautifully presented (for those who have given poor reviews I would love to know what you eat at home) Finally, to those questioning if this resort is worth the money. My view is yes. It exceeds expectations and leaves you feeling truly special. Now, I want to recognise all of the amazing staff, both front and back of house. You are all incredible. But those who have really shone. Chiara- our personal concierge David- airport meet and greet Kristina, Rea and Jose- Beach Club Josef and Estevan-Seasons Vikotoria- Deluxe Pool Nicos- Dinner by the sea Thank you all
