The Island 4 br (9th Floor)

Stayed here recently. Hotel facility is fine and the value is excellent. Clean, nice pool area; rooms are good size and the ocean view is very nice. Parking is very tight and I wouldn't know how a Tahoe or Expedition would ever fit in a parking spot. Other than parking; its a good place to stay.

Loved everything! Really loved the bed in our unit - it was extremely comfortable. Can you tell me what the mattress brand is?

Overall we had a nice stay. There were a few minor shortcomings (i.e., not great lighting in the bedroom; tub/shower that had a slight tilt) but nothing that detracted from our vacation. My only real complaint is that the pillows were not that comfortable (in PH9); a few were lumpy and all were about half the size of an average pillow. We've been here before this is the first time we had bad pillows so maybe it's just the suite we were in. Aside from this, everything was fine. Restaurant and bar are very nice too. Having an entertainer at dinnertime was a nice touch. Food notes: At the bar, the Tortillas with Salsa and Fried Oysters were very good! The Caprese (mozzarella and tomatoes with balsamic) however, was bland - no seasoning and the balsamic wasn't the right kind; also the mozzarella balls seemed dried out. Don't know if it's normally so bad but it was the other night. At the restaurant, the Stuffed Pork Chops and Chicken Francese were delicious. So were the roasted carrots and brussel sprouts. My husband also liked his Calamari appetizer. People: Most of the staff, especially Steve, the Manager, were very nice. I won't say anything negative about anyone in particular but one or two employees should remember they are in the hospitality business, and wouldn't have a job there if it wasn't for the guests. All in all we enjoyed our short time at the Island Vista and will definitely come again.

The room and everything was very nice and clean. The only bad thing was the power went out for about hour and I was on the 12th floor :(

This was our second time staying at the Island Vista Oceanfront Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. We were traveling with a group from Dunlap Travel. We found our room very well appointed with beautiful views of the ocean with breathtaking sunrises. The Housekeeping Staff did an excellent job making sure we had clean towels each day. What a pleasure to return to the room and have the beds made and everything tidy. Pauline, at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we requested. The service and food in the restaurant was outstanding. Anthony, our server, was a pleasure. He was very efficient and had a witty personality (which we enjoyed). Oh! and the Christmas decorations were so beautiful. Look forward to our next stay.

Check in was easy and convenient the property was quiet and safe and clean. Our room was excellent. Plan to visit again soon
