GBLovely, clean property with everything you need for a short stay. It is in a quiet location approx. 25 mins walk to the centre (or 5-10 mins by Uber :-)) and the grocery shop, bakery, café and even a restaurant if you fancy eating out are literary around the corner. We spotted a lovely park with a lake nearby the property which we would have loved to explore but we run out of time so definitely next time!!!!! All in all, we really enjoyed our stay! A welcome hamper was a nice touch!
This is not a criticism as it can't be changed (and it didn't bother us in the slightest ) but please be aware that the steps to the 1st floor are quite narrow and steep. There is a boiler in one of the bedrooms (where kids were sleeping) and they said they were woken up by it in the morning but I would say that is only if you are a light sleeper and like to sleep in (as it only came on around 7.30am). I didn't hear it ;-)
GBGBThe location of the home was perfect for what we wanted, it was only the next road along from my friend who we were visiting. Everything was as expected and described. Bishopthorpe Road is nearby with a variety of shops and eateries and is close to town too which is within walkable distance. The bus service is unreliable so best to get some local taxi service numbers.
The parking space due to no designated area it was hit and miss where we could park and the street is narrow making it difficult to manoeuvre
GBClose to city centre, lovely walk. Was given plenty of options to stay when we could not get home because of the snow. Will definitely go again!
GBStayed over for New Year. It's set up like a home from home. Everything you need for a longer stay. Lots of friendly touches. Communication is excellent and check in and out really easy. Less than half an hour to walk into town, beautiful park nearby, supermarket a few minutes away. Highly recommended.
GBVery quiet area, comfortable beds, useful downstairs toilet as well as upstairs bathroom and very easy free parking - a bonus in streets around York! It was lovely that the team had put up a Christmas tree and decorations to make the place feel festive for us.
Stairs are steeper than ours at home but with the sturdy bannister we didn’t find them a problem (we’re 75+ but it was OK)
