The room was large and the hotel had charm.

All was good enough!

A beautiful traditional Hotel with lots of history.

While the decor is part of the Hotels charm some of the furniture and fittings are showing signs of 'wear and tear'.

Pool was quite cold. Dinner restaurant was very formal and loads of courses. I prefer less stuffy and expensive meals (although food v tasty).

Great hotel in a superb location, very comfortable and a great library bar. Excellent food in the restaurant and really lovely staff, particularly Lena and her younger colleague at the bar who were great to chat to and gave us lots of helpful tips - nothing was too much trouble. Excellent service in transporting us up from the car park through the winding streets up to the hotel. Please look after your staff, they were all fantastic. Thanks to all, from Jonathan and Philippa.

Our one and only minor gripe was that the shower could have been better position and with a stronger flow, though we appreciate that this may be beyond your control.

Bar staff wasn’t great and prices were high

The hotel was wonderful although while the staff was not unfriendly, they were not overly warm. The location is great and the rooms were stunning.

I told the waiter I was lactose intolerant but could handle butter but no creamy sauces. He assured me I could eat the Signature Menu. However many of the dishes did have a dairy sauce and the dessert came with ice cream. When he came with the cheese tray I asked for 2 blue cheeses since those are low in lactose. He added a third slice, clearly not understanding lactose intolerance
