Rotunda - New Street, City Centre, Birmingham

The location was excellent. The building is also iconic so it was a bucket-list place to stay, coupled with a major city event.

The property was appalling. There was a double bed, a dining table with two chairs, a small armchair and an egg swing chair. There was no settee or sofa bed as pictured in the advert. The TV was placed in an awkward position high up on a wall/in a corner and not easily viewable from the seating area. The decor was extremely tired with dirty paint/marks on walls. There were two windows: one handle didn't work, the other handle was missing so was unable to open the windows for fresh air in a floor to ceiling windowed apartment. There was a fan near the bed and a air con unit that didn't work property and started to leak water so was left switched off. Both shower dials fell off in our hands leaving scalding hot water coming out of the shower head. Had to manipulate both dials to get control of the water. No shower curtain so water from the shower fell straight onto the bathroom floor which needed mopping up with towels to be safe. No plug in the wash hand basin. No stalk on tap to operate the tap properly. All in all an exremely disappointing stay and will be emailing customer services for some form of redress for the disappointment. As the apartment was so bad, we decided not to stay the second night and booked accommodation elsewhere.

The room smelt like someone had wore wellies for 6 months and just put there socks on the radiator. The room was as hot as hell and i actually hope hell isn't that hot! It absolutely snunk of weed as soon as you got out the lift. I couldn't contact anyone and I want my money back to be honest. Absolute shambles. Sort it out.

The bed was comfy that’s it.

The window did not open, I messaged host and no reply. We had the 2 fans on all night and because the room was that hot we left at 9:20am. There was a massive stain on the curtain, the bathroom was so dirty. The pre ious people staying had stuffed tissue in the air vent also that had not been moved even though we were told a cleaner had come in. Not a good stay at all

The property was dirty, one of the fans was broken and the other device for ventilation was broken too. When we first stepped into the room it was boiling hot. We were too scared to use the bed because we noticed the presence of bed bugs. The TV was on the floor as the support on the wall was broken and the shower in the bathroom and the dishes provided were dirty.

Being a Brummie, to stay at the iconic Rotunda was an ambition fulfilled. The view of the World's BEST city was amazing. The floor to ceiling windows were fantastic. Mind you, I would have preferred my view not to have included a certain team's ground. As a fanatical Aston Villa fan looking over to the 'enemy' (LOL) was disappointing. The fact that smoke was rising from one of the stands brought hope of destruction, sadly it didn't develop but I digress. The table, the furniture was functional and comfortable but I will say more about that in the 'didn't like' section. The shower was fabulous! The buildings concierge, Lisa?, was amazing; being so friendly and helpful. Just a wonderful woman and she deserves massive praise and a huge pay rise. She is a credit to the Rotunda!

The general atmosphere of the apartment was a bit of a disappointment. A lick of fresh paint and better furniture would have been appreciated. To have a feel of general shabbiness is so unnecessary. Take a look at the corners of the chair. I am not a fussy person and say this for future customers. This could be an exceptional apartment but isn't at the moment.
