Poppy's on the Lagoon

Central to most locations we wanted to visit

We couldn’t swim in the lagoon due to water pollution and lots of the water sports were canceled (snorkelling, jet skiing) the only thing we could do was kayak.

Beautiful facility, gardens, and staff. Our 2 br garden villa was clean and comfortable. The restaurant food was lovely. So relaxing and quiet. Would recommend for families and the Waterfront villas are private facing into the lagoon. Excellent value for money compared to other properties in and around Port vila.

Unfortunately you cannot snorkel or swim in the Lagoon due to contamination but that is not the fault of Poppys. The pools were in need of some attention, I am sure it is tricky balancing the pool water with the rain and heat and use but 2 out of 3 of the pools were quite cloudy and dirty. The staff did their best to rectify it.

An excellent location (except climbing and descending the hill), charming grounds with beautiful flowers and tropical plants, comfortable clean room.

The property is near the water while the rest of the town is on the hill. Accordingly, to get to town you have to climb the hill, and going back you have to descend the hill. Very poor Wi-Fi most of the time. As we were told, it was a problem everywhere due to a recent hurricane.

Both the views and the service were extraordinary. We appreciated how they organised a last minute tour for us at 8pm for the next morning. They also organised a taxi for 4:30am for us and had two security guards waiting with us until he arrived. We never felt unsafe in Port Vila, but this was an added bonus for comfort.

Disappointed to find that Erakor Lagoon is too polluted to swim in

Being woken up several times a night with dogs barking. One night the added bonus was someone being chased by the dogs as I heard him yelling at the dogs to stay away. Also 63 steps (most of them uneven) to get to the studio apartment was not appreciated. As for wi-fi, only worked if I walked down the 63 steps, and sat outside in the open restaurant (especially fun at night time with the mosquitoes) near the reception where the wifi modem was located. Breakfast brought to your room with items stored in multiple little plastic bags. I guess a left over from Covid? Not very appealing: dry croissant, dry two pieces of break, little sachets of butter and jam, and two sachets of coffee. Yum. Not!
