Poppy's on the Lagoon

Location was great, easy access to port vila and airport! Description of accommodation was absolutely spot on!! Access to kayaks was great! Peaceful and quiet, didnt know there were other guests during the day. Rooms clean and well provisioned. Reception super helpful!

Had hot water on the first night and none after that.

Quiet, well maintained, beautiful gardens

Location is just a bit far away from the main shops & CBD. It’s located on a steep hill with a significant climb from the dining area to the villa’s/rooms.

Poppy’s was very convenient to town but quiet and relaxing as well. The two bedroom apartment we stayed in was on top of the hill and was perfect for our group of 5 since they provided the additional bed in one of the bedrooms. It had great view of the lagoon and the breezes were wonderful. The apartment was comfortable and spacious and the staff were perfectly attentive to any and all needs. Breakfast delivered to the room everyday was good. Warmed croissants, bread for toast, jams, butter, assorted juice, yoghurt, milk, assorted cereals, fruit and instant coffee and tea. Wonderful stay……will be planning to stay again in the future.

Wi-Fi was advertised and we were provided a password for the network, but it was not available to us in Room 7. Not sure if location was the problem, or if it was a network issue. We could see a Wi-Fi network on our phones but it was not the one we were told to look for and join. Subsequently, we tried the available Poppy’s Telesat network but never were successful. Also…..there was a TV provided in our room but it was not connected to any provider service. So it was useless.

Manicured grounds, spotless and spacious rooms. Huge breakfast of croissants, cereal, yoghurt and fruits. Nice restaurant with large meals at reasonable prices. Highly recommend the massive pizzas! Helpful, friendly staff. Amazing massages. Very quiet with a short walk/drive in to town.

Patchy WiFi.

Poppy's is centrally located in a quiet area with good access to the lagoon for kayaking, as well as buses and taxis to go into town. The property is well kept and comfortable. The staff are very helpful and having a day spa on-site was a bonus.

The breakfasts were overly large with lots of food we didn't eat, which felt wasteful. Perhaps a menu should be provided rather than giving everyone the same things. The wifi was very weak and only worked on our balcony, which made working difficult.

The location was excellent, nice easy walk into town through village streets. We had a lagoon view spa bath unit/bungalow which was brilliant, for the view it was rather pleasant and tranquil. The overall self contained kitchenette was good and bathroom/toilet was spacious. We also got the breakfast which was brilliant and plenty of food, they don’t have too much offering for coeliacs, so it was yoghurt and fruit. (Note for coeliac’s, byo bread or other as it was also hard to find something in the supermarkets, we visited 3)

Lack of maintenance by the owners. Obviously the Chinese owners do not want to spend the money in fixing things up. Our lagoon view bungalow was having gas stove ‘tick’ issues our first night so we were placed into another room for the night. When back in our room the next day, looking forward to a spa after our say, then the spa bath taps came loose, the spa didn’t actually work (buttons faulty or something) however we still managed to enjoy a warm bath without the spa jets. That was probably the most disappointing thing considering we paid a fair bit for the added view and luxury of a spa
