The property was beautiful and clean

I did not like how hard it was to order a snack or food. You had to be seated or wait for the pool service. There should be more spots you can walk up and grab food yourself.

"Relaxing, family-friendly atmosphere"

The Royal Hacienda is very family friendly. There were many multi-generations families at the resort during our visit. The location is very good, about 10-15 minutes drive from downtown and free shuttle is provided from hotel to downtown, with a minimal fees for round trip. The main restaurants: Los Murales and Kinoko are very good, both had menus for the holidays. The buffet: La Palapa del Sol is okay, a bit underwhelming on some days, but okay met most needs. Thanks to the amazing staff, Susana (check-in counter), Dolores (Los Murales), Francesco (Kinoko), Eduardo (Luna Grill), Josefina, Cesar, Luis (La Palapa del Sol). And last but not least, a HUGE thanks and appreciation to Saul (La Palapa del Sol) for going over and beyond the call of duty. He's an outstanding all-around person, an exemplar of SERVICE and asset to his team.

I didn't like that we have to be moved for one night (Saturday). It's a bit disruptive to our vacation. I'm grateful that Israel agreed not to move the room with our grandchildren. We didn't think that's a good idea and he managed to accommodate our request.

Reservé este hotel por una noche con un servicio supuestamente todo incluido para mi y mi pareja en fin de año , pero al llegar nos informaron que la cena de fin de año no estaba incluida( cena normal que ofrecía el bufet del hotel ) . Para poder cenar esa noche había que pagar un extra; de lo contrario, no se nos permitía cenar con el resto de los huéspedes. Esta condición nunca fue informada al momento de la reserva, lo cual considero una falta grave de transparencia y una estafa total. Uno contrata un todo incluido justamente para evitar este tipo de sorpresas, más aún en una fecha tan importante como Año Nuevo. El servicio fue decepcionante y la atención poco empática ante nuestro reclamo. No recomendaría este hotel, especialmente si planean alojarse en fechas especiales.

The frontline staff were professional and kind, this was the only salvaging feature of this resort, had it not been for them we would have left.

The bathroom in my in-laws room smelled strongly of cat urine, to the point that we avoided using it and relied on public bathrooms. We were also required to change rooms without any notice prior to booking mid way through our stay to accommodate time share guests, which was extremely inconvenient. Dining was a constant issue. We were only able to secure dinner reservations on 4 of our 9 nights, and on occasions the restaurants that did not require reservations were closed without notice. This left us with no dining options other than in room dining with over an hour wait. I was even required to justify ordering takeaway to feed my children when room service was taking over an hour and there was nowhere else to eat. Despite being all-inclusive guests, we ended up leaving the resort and paying for dinner elsewhere. Room service was consistently slow and sometimes did not arrive at all. Rules were applied inconsistently, with clear preference shown to timeshare guests. For example, we witnessed a guest move his sunbed into the pool and walk away, which staff considered acceptable—even when our children had to retrieve it to prevent it drifting into other guests. In contrast, our children were later told to stop playing with their father because it displeased a timeshare guest elsewhere in the pool. All of these issues were raised multiple times with management, both in person and via email, yet there was no acknowledgment or attempt to resolve them. Eventually, we stopped providing feedback due to the rudeness of management and check-in staff—particularly at reception—whom we actively avoided. Overall, the resort represents very poor value for money, and we will never stay here again. Although the resort claims to be child friendly there are several activities that children are excluded from, eg Bingo, Canoeing, the Rotonda bar. Children are also not able to order food without a parent (even though we were 6 meters away from them).

Pool was great. Different activities everyday for adults and kids. Great energy. Well maintained.

Not a lot of variety for food. If you aren’t a member, you basically can’t get a reservation for the steakhouse. Having to call daily to reserve the restaurants was annoying and other activities needed to be booked in advance but. It well advertised. Only really two places to eat. The options during the day are all the same even though it suggests there are multiple places to eat
