Casa Mercedes - Deluxe Apartments in Casco Viejo

The bed was comfortable, check in was easy, lots of walkable sights to see and places to eat were close by..The price was not bad for 7 days.We liked the appliances they worked well. No problems parking we were able to park out front. The view not bad and we felt safe.

More attention needs to be paid to details..Cuff marks on walls at sofa area,sofa was dirty and the sofa pillows were also dirty, shower did not get hot, shower didn't drain properly, water stains on ceiling in kitchen area, light fixture in second bedroom flicker badly. The biggest dislike, there was no elevator at all to reach our room. Would we stay again no.

Dangerous! This isn't in Casco Viejo. Casco Viejo is a 5-10 minute walk away. This is in the Santa Ana area right by the Santa Ana park. It's a dangerous area. My Panamanean friends were concerned when they saw where we were staying. There are literally homeless people sleeping on the benches and pooping 💩 on the park s few feet away. My car was broken into and everything was stolen. We stayed for two weeks. The owners went out of their way to make our visit uncomfortable. We had to buy our own toilet paper and garbage bags. There is nothing in the kitchen not even salt. The microwave and oven didn't work. It's funny that we spent over a thousand dollars but still had to buy basic essentials that are always included everywhere else. If you're okay with a dangerous area Casco Viejo is a quick walk away. I wouldn't stay here if I was a woman or had children with me though.

It was a very nice and clean apartment with all the basic amenities to live comfortably with the family. Also a very good value for money. The location in the heart of Casco Viejo was amazing. We were able to walk to everything within Casco Viejo.

Although the location is great during the day, it gets very noisy at night. There are clubs and casinos on the square, and people get drunk and rowdy at night. You need earplugs to sleep. Our sofa bed was also broken so it was very difficult to use as a bed.

Everything was perfect for our needs, good host, excellent standard, location/ neigbourhood, clean and cool with good AC. Extra point for washing machine and balcony with a wiew over the fantastic park full of life..

The apartment was cute and looked just like the pictures. It was nice and roomy and had everything I needed for my stay. It is well designed, and I never heard noise from neighbors. Had to go to hotel next door to retrieve keys (liked), which are up a couple of flights of stairs. Fortunately, my driver carried my bag for me. Iron gate that required key to access building (like) Smart TV - just log- in (like) Cold air conditioners in living area/bedroom (like) Comfy bed and room away from street noise (love) Building across street from city park, so good area for people watching from balcony (like) Close to grocery store (like) Close (few blocks) to Casco Viejo (like). Everything I needed was within walking distance

Front desk personnel spoke no English, not even a little bit. My driver had to translate for me. It took a while, as she said she didn't have my reservation, so I had to show her on my phone - fortunately, I took a picture of it because I had no service on arrival. The bathroom shower floor was not clean and moldy. I tried to limit my time in there and wore shoes while showering. Small bathroom w/ nowhere to store toiletries, so bring something to keep them in. The Wi-Fi didn't work for 3 of my 4 days. (SIM card did not work) The pamphlet in the room listed the wrong log-in info. I was out of phone service the majority of my trip but was able to connect to Wi-Fi from the Italian restaurant downstairs and reached out to host. He gave the correct password. Listing shows apartment is in Casco Viejo (at time of booking), which is where I thought I would be staying. It is adjacent to the tourist area, so that was misleading. Leaving the building, I made sure to turn right and ventured in that direction. Left of the building, or just behind are not the safest areas. That said, the people don't bother you, as everyone is just going about their day. As a solo (female) traveler, it was not an ideal location. Lastly, I felt safe because I was up on the second floor, but the patio door did not lock, and there was a huge gap underneath - so you hear everything outside as if the door is open. I rolled up a towel to try to block out the noise, and said a prayer that no one would climb the balcony and open the door. :) Solo traveler.

What I liked about the one bedroom apartment: See photos. It was a nice, clean and large (for me and my toddler son) place. The bedroom was in the back and away from all the nice! A balcony, which I did not use much due to my toddler's activity level and likes to climb anything (dangerous for kids his age) and the fact that the weather was very hot and humid, I preferred to stay inside the cool apartment. Good wi-fi. groceries stores nearby - stay away from am/pm which is opened 24/7 but at premium prices for even water.

I travelled with my toddler for over 36 hours and across the Atlantic to get to Panama City, Panama, so we were both very tired when we arrived by taxi. But we took almost 2 hours to find CASA MERCEDES. There is NO SIGNAGE with the name CASA MERCEDES. This was NOT MADE CLEAR in the Booking.com website when making reservations. The taxi driver was suggesting, after searching all over the neighborhood and him asking multiple locals for directions to CASA MERCEDES and each time he was told different possible locations. It took almost 2 HOURS to find it due to the heavy traffic at that time of night (between 9 pm and 10:45 pm - and every night up to 5 am, as I learned later!). I walked up and down several short blocks with my tiny son in my arms looking for CASA MERCEDES's signage but found none. Finally, after almost 2 hours of looking I told the taxi driver to pass by and stop at HOTEL CARACAS and ask them before probably driving to the hotel he had been suggesting for about an hour. I did ring the doorbell for HOTEL CARACAS and was let in to the second floor (walked up a narrow stairwell) and the receptionist there told me that CASA MERCEDES was next door! I was relieved as my little son was tired and we both needed to rest. Finally, 2 HOURS later of looking for CASA MERCEDES, my tiny son and I were chilling in the spacious apartment. Additionally, the place is located next to SANT ANA PLAZA & CHURCH and in a very night life busy area of old city, so very LOUD all night with cars's horns blaring throughout the night (up to around 5 am!) but luckily the bedroom is on the backside and it was not as loud as being in the living room / kitchen area. The staff is unfriendly and had a sour face each and every day there. I even asked the lady behind the counter (HOTEL CARACAS - where I stayed for 4 nights after this location and will write its won review soon...not very good, stay at HOTEL CARACAS!

The location is very noisy all night on most nights. Very small kitchen area that needs new knives, a new cutting board. The bedroom is right next to a noisy generator, which was loud at night. The closet doors had screws that were missing and loose.
