Quality of food at breakfast and dinner was disappointing

The best bit about the property was the location. Walking distance to the centre. The room was clean and very comfortable. Only small niggle with it was that there were no sockets by the bed which was a bit annoying for phone charging etc. We found that there were a few hidden/unclear fees. The parking is 15 euro per day and the car park space is relatively small so not guaranteed to get a space there. There is also a charge for all drinks at the evening buffet, including water, which isn’t made clear at the restaurant until after you order and are about to leave. You can specify that would like tap water though which is free. We went half board but if were to do it again wouldn’t get the dinner, the breakfast was nice but the dinner food was average, can get higher quality, cheaper food at the many restaurants and cafes in town. Overall pleasant stay though.

The staff were unfailingly polite, friendly and helpful. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable and there were several shared spaces for reading. The bar by the swimming pool was very pleasant except when it rained.

We truly enjoyed the location of the hotel, and the staff were the real highlight of our stay. From the reception to the breakfast, buffet, and restaurant teams, the staff were incredibly welcoming, understanding, and cordial. Their warmth and professionalism really stood out. In fact, I am tempted to return to this hotel just for the exceptional reception we received from the Miramar staff.

During my recent stay, I found the room in need of updating, as it had not been updated in at least 7-8 years. While there was a TV in the lounge area, there was none in the bedroom, which was a bit of an inconvenience. The food experience was a major disappointment. The breakfast lacked sufficient protein options, with no ham available, and the bacon was of poor quality. The cheese selection was limited, and while there was a large variety of breads, none were of good quality or particularly appealing. The juices tasted artificial and lacked freshness. The dinner options were equally underwhelming. In the buffet restaurant, the salads were stale and appeared to have been prepared days earlier. The overall quality of the food did not meet the standards I would expect from a 4-star hotel. However, we did enjoy our meals at the Adega and Miramar restaurants, which were much better in terms of quality Additionally, I found it disappointing that the half-board option did not include soft drinks, as they were charged separately. Overall, while the stay had its positives, there is significant room for improvement, particularly in terms of food quality and room updates.

Property looks great from the outside and the staff is friendly

Rooms are very dated , spa area of poor quality and not at the level of a 4 stars. Food was low quality and the chef did not even know the ingredients of some dishes

Central location opposite the famous Reid Hotel. In particular the old part of the hotel and the rooms are beautiful. The staff is very accommodating.

Mostly visitors from travel agencies such as TUI, etc., very little privacy at breakfast and dinner buffet.
