AEThe hotel is located about 15 min walking from the center of Darjeeling and it has amazing views. My room had a terrace with amazing scenery and I could see the Kanchenjunga, the 3rd highest mountain in the world. Staff were always friendly and welcoming and they provided me with the details of an agency to organize a 2 day trip which was reliable. Breakfast was decent and they kept cooking fresh food. Tea was good
1. when I got to my room all the doors (including the main door) and windows were open. It was end of November and the temperature about 5°C. Reception said this was for “ventilation” however my room was freezing for the first hours. 2.Electricity cuts: I connected the heater and the tea pot at the same time and the light cut. Electricity cuts happened 3-4 times in the span of an hour and I had to keep calling reception 3. Cold: the room was rather cold throughout the stay, although the electric blankets and the small heater helped. I could not even have a shower given how cold the bathroom was. 4. Plugs: plugs in Darjeeling seem to be different than in the rest of India, yet they did not provide any adaptor or Mini-USB ports. I had to call 3 times and ask for an adapter which they finally provide This hotel needs improvement in terms of electrical infrastructure and heating

I was frozen. During winter there is only one tiny heating panel in the room and the entire hotel has all the windows open - why?
