Cathedral Quarter Hotel - Derby

Breakfast was good

Room was small. Toilet seat broken. Sheets on bed starchy, stains on floor, old smelly food left in room fridge from previous guests.

Was a nice hotel

Damp/mould in the room... paint was flaking off... Bath didn't work/no running water from it and the TV in the bathroom was not working... Bedroom window wouldn't open more or close paint peeling from window frames. Room was very warm wasnt able to change the temps The lift going down wasnt working (the call button for the lift)

Good location

Air con doesn’t work in any room, has been broken for 4 years apparently Lift only works going up 1 member of staff doing everything check in, bar, food etc Not secure, came back around 1am and all main doors wide open and no staff to be seen. No key card entry just wide open. Bathroom towel rail was on the hottest setting with no way to turn it down/off apart from to take the fuse out.

Location perfect. Staff took our bags before room was ready as we had something booked for 1pm and when we got back later our bags was in our nice clean room ready for us

Aircon didnt work, room was roasting all night

The receptionist

The shower was dirty and unfortunately we spilt some coffee which meant I had to remove the duvet cover. The quilt underneath was really stained

Rooms were clean but dust everywhere any dark furniture thick with dust and windowsill in rooms

Historical building

We were at the 4th floor had to take stairs due to the elevator being broken, with 3 suitcases and the first room was not clean The shower handle was broken, after bringing it up to the staff they provided another room which was not also clean had moulds in the bathroom. After being in the room 5 minutes started seeing bugs on the bed and on luggage

Convenient location, quiet, bed comfortable, architecture

Poor, casual and inexperienced service throughout the property, threadbare carpets in the room, no hotel information in room, poor selection of crisps in the bar, general run down feel of the place, what a pity.
