Cathedral Quarter Hotel - Derby

Easy check-in. Staff super helpful.

Air conditioning didn't work. Small fan in room but nowhere near cool air and it was a high temperature outside. Backed on car park and one window with a broken net curtain rod so no privacy, other window no net curtain.

Situation - could walk easily round city. Staff very helpful. Beautiful entrance hall with stained glass window. Car park available. Quiet at night.

Had to ask for hair dryer. Air conditioning not working but survived with fan provided but didn’t leave windows open as on ground floor. Could do with bleach on mould under shower.

Location and price

The rooms were absolutely unbearably hot. The towel rail was blasting heat as we arrived and there was so air on or air circulation. Also the lift was broken and the bar beer selection were all off.

The staff and the breakfast.

The double bed had a single quilt in a double duvet cover. When requesting a double quilt or a blanket I was informed that there were non availabke and offered a heater. This was totally unacceptable and we spent an uncomfortable night with coats to keep warm. There was also dust on window sills aling corridors. I ca not fault the staff as they did all they could to sort things out.

Hotel was great value for money although the bedroom was rather small.

The room number 6 didn’t look much like the pictures also it was quite dirty. The flooring was not secure, I tripped twice!! And the bedroom furniture was quite tatty .
