The Railway Hotel Koyasan Pilgrimage Railway - Station Inn - Self Check-in Only

Awesome experience in a very quiet, small town before Koyasan. Surprisingly apacious and well equipped. Remember to stock up food and other stuff at Hashimoto as there is literally nothing in Koyashita. Surprisingly the train noises did not bother us at all!

There was a lot of huge spiders in the stair corridor outside the accomodation :D Spooky, but fitting for the season ;)

Lovely quirky little place - very clean, had everything you need for a short stay. My daughter loved the trains.

Nothing - but be aware this is a working train station so there will be some noise, I expected this, so it was fine, not too intrusive.

Die Lage ist einmalig. Man wohnt direkt im Bahnhof am Gleis. Die Züge haben uns nicht gestört. Die Einrichtung ist lustig-charmant, im Bad steht eine tolle Badewanne. Es ist groß, die Betten sind eher weich, aber gut.

Die Lüftung der Räume ist nicht so ganz einfach aufgrund der Bausubstanz.

We loved the location and the room was so spacious and had loads of character. These were the comfiest beds we slept on! There were some really considerate touches like earplugs for light sleepers, but honestly we barely noticed the trains. It was such a great place to stay we will definitely come here again.

A shame there are no closer places or shops to get food, ensure to plan in advance if you are not arriving by car so you have something to eat especially if arriving in the evening.

Chambre correcte, salle de bains neuve et assez grande pour le Japon. La vue le matin des trains arrivant ou quittant la gare est sympathique.

Le prix est beaucoup trop élevé. Des hôtes ont fait la remarque et rien n’a été fait pour résoudre le problème: il y a encore trop de lumière la nuit, des rideaux occultants doivent être placés à l’une des fenêtres et stopper l’arrivée de lumière sur toute la surface. Le bruit des trains presque jusqu’à minuit est un défaut que certains peuvent supporter et d’autres pas. La trentaine de marches à gravir pour arriver à la gare peut être un gros problème pour certains: porter ses bagages en montant des marches n’est pas pour tout le monde. Point de vue sécurité, on pourrait s’inquiéter de dormir dans une gare ( minuscule) mais au Japon, aucun problème. Dernier point mais cela a été dit: il faut apporter avec soi tout ce dont on a besoin point de vue nourriture et boissons car il n’y a rien dans les environs. Cela fait beaucoup de points négatifs pour moi.

L'endroit totalement insolite, vraiment top comme expérience, la station est dans un village au milieu des montagnes, à côté de plusieurs chemins de randonnées. Attention, vous êtes bien dans une station de train aménagée en chambre d'hôte donc vous entendrez forcément les trains, normal mais pas gênant pour nous.

À faire mais ne pas être sensible au bruit des trains début de nuit 23h heure du dernier train - réveil 6h avec le premier train, voilà le créneau où vous dormirez au calme du village.

I liked the location and great use of space! Very clean! Great set up, fast wifi. Nice hospitality of tea and coffee. Met with staff and she was so friendly. Met her friend who went out of her way to take me to the store for food, and was given rice balls! I slept through all the train noise even though they provided ear plugs.

Since I was in the room directly next to the track, the light were quite bright until they turned off after 1 a.m. Longer black out curtains would've been nice.
