Clifton Hampden B&B

Room was spacious and quiet, despite being on a main road. When we did get hold of staff, they were friendly and the breakfast was impressive,

Noone was there when we arrived and it took a while to reach someone on the phone. We then had to find the key locks and let ourselves in (the place was dark and rooms hard to find.) The bathroom was old and the hairdryer fused the electrics (although the bathroom in our other room was much better).

The location was good for anyone walking the Thames Path

The property is really showing its age & needs complete refurbishment. There was no hot water in the shower, barely any water pressure either. Although the bed was comfortable & bedding clean there were flies in the glasses in the bathroom. There were no electrics working when we arrived.

Everything it was dangerous electric wise it was dirty and the owners were unable to communicate in English without an translator app the mattress on the bed was dirty badly stained and very unhygienic. The food was appalling and the whole experience was dreadful we are unable to reach our to the property as they're refusing to answer our calls and what you are advertising on you website is not what it is like at all uou have misold this property to us and its fraudulent because its not what it is on you site we want a refund but you appear to refuse this x4 calls I will be take further action with the appropriate people to get them see what Booking .com is all about and its not the customer .

The breakfast was adequate and value for money. The building itself was quaint and full of history. The rooms were clean and a fan was supplied for such hot weather. I asked for rooms to be close to each other which was supplied in a separate annexe and met our needs. There was plenty of hot water and powerful showers. The receptionist on arrival was charming.

The accommodation was tired as if not lived in for a time. The forecourt was neglected and flowers have died. The reception lacked punctuality.

Good location if walking the Thames Path. Interesting old building, seems full of history.
