Wow the view !! The location, the facilities, the shower , the help and communication off the owner was just amazing !! This place is a must !!

Wow! Such a beautiful property looking over the beautiful city of Matera. Living room / kitchen was large with high stone arched ceiling in the front. Step out to what must be one of the best patios in the city. You are in the old town yet have space, peace and quiet. Then you come to the bedroom and bathroom beautifully cut into a rocky cave. So atmospheric. Furnishings were handmade and really comfy. Kitchen well equipped. 2 ring hob but no oven. Coffee machine and coffee provided along with breakfast. Host cheerful and welcoming. Parking at Via Saragat and shuttle bus were no problem.

Booking.com claims a washing machine. Be aware there isn’t one. There is a laundry service for a fixed 20 euro fee.

Location! View! Gorgeous cave home! What more can I say. You absolutely must stay in a cave house to fully experience Matera and this one has to be the best! The best view in Matera right from your private patio. The host could not have been more kind and responsive both before and during our stay. He quickly answered all our questions and had left a variety of yummy treats, cereals, and drinks for us. The cave house is meticulously restored and the shower was so fun with the steam option. We woke up each day thinking “we are in a cave house!!” So fun!

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful cave house in Matera! The hosts Gianfranco and Rosalba were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always helpful throughout our visit. Check-in was very easy and smooth. The cave house itself was outstanding — authentic, comfortable, and with a breathtaking view that made the experience even more special. We were also welcomed with delicious cakes, water, milk, and wine, which was such a thoughtful touch. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Matera. We would absolutely love to return in the future!

The property exceeded all our expectations. It was beautifully appointed and had everything that we could need. The experience of staying in a cave home was unforgettable and the view from the terrace was exceptional. The host was very kind and responsive. It was a magical experience.
