GO2 Gloucester Hotel by OYO

Small basic room but everything you need and the room and en suite were very clean. Bed was comfortable. Location was very good, right next to several takeaways and a very good cafe. Five minutes walk from the canal path for walking and cycling. Close to city centre. Hotel is dog friendly.

Room was on the small side, kept bashing my shoulder on the mounted tv. The fan only worked on high setting and sounded like a helicopter! Luckily it was not too hot. Dogs are charged at an extra £20, didn't know that until I got there. No lift, I was asked if I was okay with being upstairs though so I think I could have had a ground floor room if I'd needed it.

Nothing was nice

The location was fine. There wasn’t a breakfast available. The only member of staff I spoke to couldn’t be more helpful. He was excellent. The room itself, however, was awful! There was a loud continuous buzzing noise coming from the consumer unit above the door. There was a weird noise coming from outside the room, like a gurgling noise, which was strange. The room was unbearably hot and we had to keep the windows open all night. The bathroom was very old and dirty. I couldn’t use the bath as I would have felt more dirty after having a shower. The room was undoubtedly cheap for the night and if that’s all that matters to you this place would be ideal. Unfortunately I would have rather paid more, if I had realised, to have a cleaner, nicer room.

The room was dirty and very outdated. Definitely time for a refurb!

We found the whole place was in bad condition & needed a lot of work doing to bring it up to date, the lift was broken, dirty carpets dirty walls and water stains on some stairwell ceilings, holes in walls boarded up, coffee facilities were very poor, bathroom sink had no plug, bathroom floor tiles were dirty, mould in the shower tray, room was dirty, tv remote didn't work, the bed was two singles put together, the quilt cover did not fit the quilt as quilt to small, it was supposed to be a deluxe room and it was far from that, very disappointed.

I was surprised that the quality has increased since the last year when we attended and were not really happy with some little bits. This time the room was very nice for a very reasonable price. The receptionist Afaq was a superstar, he answered all my questions and made sure I liked the room. He mentioned that if we are not happy with something, he will sort everything out or try to change the room. Worth money for sure, will be coming back 😊

The front desk clerk( Blessen) was professional, welcoming and friendly. Gave a very good first impression for the hotel and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed.

Couldn't find the plug socket for the kettle so had to bring it over to the bedside table.
