service and dinner was very good. staff were all very pleasant and helpful. A good full English to start the day.

shower was of minimal use. stairways and passageways need smartening up, they give a very negative first experience.

The pizza was fab.

The rooms were nothing like the images shown for the deluxe double room. Our room was tired, stained carpet, bathroom needed love and attention- badly. Water was scalding, shower pressure crap. Marks on ceiling and walls. Windows filthy. Beyond basic! Not even a chair in the room! Honestly disappointing does not cut it!

Had a very pleasant pub night! As an elder solo female traveller I used to avoid, but wanted, to join a pub atmosphere. And finally I knew how it was, thanks to these friendly and joyful staff and customers. I had a cheerful small chat and got a delicious bite and a half pint of cider. Fabulous first experience!! The room was larger and more comfortable than expected, but, a little regret that I couldn't open the curtains because it was located on the ground floor just attached from the outside pavement. It was really in front of a bus stop. The town is incredibly beautiful calm and peaceful.

Of course it is a traditional building I understand it has few electric outlets, but I was puzzled to use an electric kettle. I had to unplug other to use it.
