"Nice house for families or small groups, even better for a couple."

Nice place to stay, comfortable beds, nice bathroom, the garden is a plus and it is close to train station and bus stops. We travelled as a family of 3 with our 3 year old, so suitable place for families, just need to mind the glass tables in the lounge.

Some things in the house are damaged such as a curtain rod downstaira, unstable coffee table, blinds upstairs are not secured properly and a silly one, there were no bin bags or a tea towel available, but apart from that which can be manded, it is good value for the money paid.

The space and having time away

The fact that the WiFi wasnt working the TV wasnt up to scratch no normal channels on. Signal waa bad. Also blinds in one bedroom were unable to close.

"They ignore all requests and didn’t send access code"

Wouldn’t know owners never sent access code

Owners ignored all calls and messages from both me and booking.com they ruined my weekend with my family and we had to drive home as they never sent the access code. DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY

"Property owner failed to honour our booking"

Horrendous service from The chic haven - failed to communicate with us and reply within a few hours. The property owner cancelled our booking cancelled our booking without warning.

Very unimpressed with the property owner. Our booking was cancelled without warning or explanation. Our guess was they had double booked with it being York races weekend and had chosen profit over professional obligation. Pathetic service - be warned!

"The reviews were bad but the reality was worse."

The location

The toilet seat was off, the shower didn’t get warm, the WiFi was broken, the batteries in the tv remote were dead. There was washing up in the sink when I arrived and the bin needed emptying.

Nothing apart from location

Everything from mouldy shower no WiFi frozen tv and up raising broken laminate and the extra train fare it took to get home after 20mins been in the house
