Very clean and comfortable

Lack of communication from host, remote in bedroom didn’t work ,rubbish left behind mirror and shower doesn’t drain.

Heating was great Easy instructions to get into the place

There was no toilet paper anywhere in the house The toilet didn’t flush properly The carpet tracks were visible and hurt when stepped on (didn’t notice till it was too late) One of the beds were squeaky The owners didn’t reply to our messages No internet Pillows were lumpy which was super uncomfortable There were no lightbulbs in the lamps The carpet on the stairs was coming loose and had staples coming out of it

Location - about a 20 mini walk to centre. Free Parking at house.

Kerb appeal not good - first impression was of the Wheely bins at front of house. No curtain in kitchen which faced onto front of house onto the road. Thin voile curtains in lounge - needed thicker curtains so people walking past can't see in. Bathroom needs an overhaul - grouting black and shower leaked. Bin also not emptied. Two out of the three bedside lamps didn't work. No batteries in second remote control. Welcome basket - lacking in content - looked like things were missing from it. House had no heating on when we arrived (In January) so it was freezing . When we did work out how to switch it on, it was on constantly as there were no instructions left as to how to switch it off.

Great location with pub and shop a 2 min walk away. 15 min walk into the centre of York. House was mostly clean.

Such poor communication from owners. I had to ring them outside the house as they had not responded to messages asking for the key code. There were NO toilet rolls supplied at all. Luckily the local shop was open. I’ve never ever known this is a holiday rental. Despite the boiler saying ‘on’ the radiators remained cold for the whole stay. We stayed on NYE so it was freezing cold! There were no instructions on how to use anything. The shower was used once and water poured from the ceiling into the kitchen despite being told on the phone that a plumber had been at the house to fix this. I messaged the owner to let them know but guess what, no response!! It’s such a shame as they have the potential for a very nice house and easy fixes leave better reviews.

Not very much to be honest. Nice decor. Property has great potential if anyone bothered to actually clean or maintain it.

Where do I start…..heating didn’t work. Host uncontactable. After looking at older reviews it seems they are aware of this for a long time and haven’t done anything about it apart from leave a couple of portable heaters. Property absolutely filthy from the couch, to the floors walls radiators toilet cups. Was dirty smelly towels left in the washing machine which was full from a previous stay. It said there would be toilet roll and welcome tea and coffee- not that this matters but there was only a few tea bags. We had to go and buy toilet roll, bleach, gloves, cleaning wipes etc as soon as we arrived so that we could make it acceptable for us to stay! Toilet was visibly dirty with poo on arrival. We had to clean this and the shower and floor before using the bathroom. Property was thick with dust and cobwebs. Dangerous carpet gripper with no edging. Had to wash all the cups prior to use as very dirty. Table in living room very wobbly. Carpets had not been hoovered and were covered in hair and sock fluff and spills. Closures on blinds were broken. Property needs some tlc but most importantly a good clean!

No breakfast included. Down stairs was nice and warm

The kitchen worktop were dirty and sticky. There was no toilet paper in the toilet. We had to walk 15 mins to get some. No hand soap in the bath. Blood on the mattress. Dirty stained towels in the cupboard. TV would not work.could only watch Netflix . Beds were very uncomfortable.i paid from Saturday to Monday.we had enough and left sunday.went to stay in a hotel near Shambles.

The heating was easy to control, a decent shower . Ideal quiet location. On site parking.

Lack of bedside and overall ambient lighting. There were lights in the main bedroom but they had no bulbs.A lot of surfaces were dusty The property looked tired and in need of tlc. The exposed carpet grippers could have caused an accident if not paying attention when walking into the bedrooms. The shower extractor had not been cleaned for a long time and did affect the extraction There is no bottle opener and a varied array of glasses, although not many. Towels were clean, although not very big, and a bath sheet would be beneficial. The modern large wall mounted clock didn't work. I got no reply when contacting the owners on several occasions regarding the key entry. This was just for reassurance purposes. I have worked as a hotel inspector in the past and assessed accommodation such as this and just felt that the accommodation was tired and really needed to be brought back to a level that would do it justice as it was a modern in style and presentation. Faux leather sofa was hard to sit on as you slipped on its surface if you didn't use the throw. The overall stay was comfortable and relaxing. Just felt it lacked overall quality.

The property was well situated for walking into York. It was a great base for exploring the city.

Location is great. Most things you need are available in the house. Good sized living room and bedrooms. Lovely little welcome pack of tea/coffee/biscuits/sugar.

No toilet roll provided, no bin bags in or for bins, kitchen not brilliantly stocked, some dishes were dirty and had to be washed before using them. WiFi signal was terrible.

The location to York centre , the beds were very comfy and it was decorated lovely , bedding lovely

It wasn’t very clean in areas , dirty in the shower , heating didn’t work and no instruction , toilet seat moved , shower over flowed and toilet blocked twice but overall we had a lovely stay . Communication could have been better with owner too.
