Master Builder's House Hotel

An excellent stay in beautiful surroundings. A very friendly atmosphere, Good size rooms which were warm. Did find the mattress rather soft for my liking,. Cleanliness good and it was a quiet and relaxing place to be. All of the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. All amenities were well provided. We had stayed here before and this stay was equally good. All food was served in the bar area which was warm and atmospheric - the food was very good as well. Good value for money. An after Christmas retreat.

My wife and I had a wonderful four day Christmas Break. This included having an extra night before the 3 day Christmas Break package that we originally booked. It was very special, and the staff provided excellent service throughout our stay, matched by the multiple log fires making a cosy well served environment. The cuisine was excellent and we enjoyed a wonderful four course lunch on Christmas Day as well as the various evening meals provided. It was nice to be welcomed with a luxury complementary hamper in our room on arrival. The hotel is in a wonderful setting with lovely views across the estuary and we really enjoyed the local walk along the estuary footpath to Beaulieu and back on Christmas Eve as well had very good sunny weather. We will certainly be back and definitely recommend for a lovely relaxing hotel Christmas Break.

The room was clean, warm and welcoming, the bed was comfortable, the water was hot, the food was good and the staff were friendly.

Very good rooms and good shower Comfortable bed and good room lighting The staff especially Wendy were excellent The lounge by the fire was a real treat Our meals were ok but on the first night they were just warm and the lamb was a little bit tough

It was our first stay at the master boat builders but it won't be out last The rooms were excellent the staff on reception and in the bar and restaurant Were friendly and helpful and the food was realy top quality Thanks to you all Kind regards Ken Palmer

A fantastic hotel with an incredible history situated in an amazing location. Staff are lovely - friendly and helpful. We will return soon very soon.

We recently got married at Master Builders and it really was the most perfect weekend from start to finish. Lizzie, Kirsty and their team were incredible, they thought of and took care of everything meaning myself and my husband just completely relaxed and enjoyed our day. From the very beginning of booking the venue to the actual weekend itself, nothing was too much to ask and the venue really did go above and beyond for us. The team followed all our requests and instructions from the decor to how we wanted favours on the table etc. We had the most perfect wedding day and will never be able to thank the team at Master Builders enough. We will definitely be back to stay!

We came to celebrate our parents 60th wedding anniversary. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. A great selection for breakfast and the dinner menu was delicious. We felt it was top quality without being too fancy. The balance was just right in every aspect. We were looked after extremely well from the first inquiry to the moment we left. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. We will certainly be back. Thank you

We were delighted to arrive to welcoming Christmas lights and roaring fires on a wet evening after a hard day. The quiet of the countryside and the views over the river (even in semi darkness) were a real joy. The staff were super, the meal was great and the bar was so warm and cosy. Our room had everything we needed. We just wished we wished we had booked to stay for longer.

The room we were given was stone cold (window open, radiator not working, 6 degrees outside) & dark. No carpet or rug on bedroom floor which was icy cold. Rotting skirting board in bathroom. Staff tried to remedy heating but room was never a comfortable temperature. We would have walked out if we had not been attending an event there. Hotel has not accepted our complaints.
