"Amazing place! Had lots of fun and I wish we stayed longer. The only downside - the room was too hot"

9.0

The location is wonderful - right on the river. The vibes are super chill, there is always nice music in the background. Staff is super friendly. Great food and good prices.

The rooms were basic yet clean. Our room was really hot and there was no fan or A/C. Important to keep in mind that there is no electricity during the night time (at least there wasn’t any when we were there…)

Beautiful location right at the river , relax and watch the world go by , clean toilets and cold/cool refreshing shower . Very helpful staff .

Solar power only so no aircon and not even fans which makes sleeping almost impossible on hot days . When it rains it cools off but everything gets moist , nothing ever really dries . Communal dinners where just ok , really nothing to rave about I had the impression that Victor would book my bus from Rio Dulce to Antigua but I was not on the list and was lucky to score a seat .

"The best hosts you can wish for"

10.0

Victor and Jaime are truly amazing hosts. Victor is a very good chef and the food is delicious. Jaime and Victor make you feel welcome, but also feel at home. They help you with arranging a lot of trips around the jungle. The family dinner is very nice.

You have to love the jungle if you stay here, because it is pretty remote. Just to be aware off.

Victor and Jaime were great hosts. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The chill area near the river was great, food was amazing and staff was very friendly and wanted us to have a great time. Would really recommend the tour to the 7 altares, playa blanca and Livingston.

Make sure you bring enough cash - it is cash only! Nearest ATM is 30 min boatride away in Livingston.

Fantastic hosts, great food with fair prices, kayak for rent, nice location! We loved it here!!

If it’s raining it can get quite loud during the to the metal roof but we actually enjoyed the sound of nature :)

Staff were amazing and the animals as well (shout out to Mona the one eyed cat who I miss so much). Really unique stay in a beautiful location. The food was really good.

If you are a wimp with insects like me you might struggle with the outside bathrooms, I had a lizard and crabs join me in the shower! But this is all part of the experience and you know to expect it. They don’t make it clear when booking that the ONLY boat they have that goes to the hotel leaves Rio Dulce at 14:30, and so it’s a good idea to plan to be in Rio Dulce much earlier than this. We had a bus due to arrive at 14:00 but it took 1.5hrs longer than scheduled and by the time we arrived the boat had gone. The management team (who are separate to the amazing staff running the hostel) weren’t very helpful with this but eventually we were able to get someone to take us and it was only a little more expensive than when organised through the hostel. All in all a small hassle to get to an amazing place but just bear in mind to plan to arrive in Rio Dulce long before 14:30.

"Amazing place"

9.0

The location on the river is incredibly beautiful. The food was very good, breakfast and lunch had very big portions. Dinner was family style, a bit expensive but very good and included home made bread and a dessert. The hosts were super friendly and spoke English very well, and they can help you arrange activities. There are many areas in the hotel where you can relax, even when it’s raining.

The rooms with shared bathroom were a bit noisy, you could hear the people in the room next to you. The hotel is an ecohotel so showers are cold, but refreshing. Power is not available during the night.
