The Little Bear Apartment Birkdale Village

Just to give you some feedback about Apartment no.6 @no.4 Birkdale Village. Positive comments: apartment was a good size for 5 persons with a comfortable amount of space cleaning of essential items was done well good links to essential shops and rail service into Southport

Problems: main one was that the property should definitely be advertised as unsuitable for young families and let the rentees make the decision to choose whether to use your flat on the basis of that knowledge why on earth do you ask for children's ages when you know perfectly well that the apartment is not only above a wine bar - automatically noisy in the evenings more importantly the apartment has below, and around it a night club environment operating, with excruciating noise and vibration levels well into the night no insulating done to attempt to deaden this noise how could you possibly think that children would be able to sleep with these noise levels permeating every inch of the apartment! result was children had their following day ruined also, as they were too exhausted to enjoy the pleasures of being at the seaside and taking part in any associated activities. To say I am furious is an understatement and exceedingly upset for you not being honest with me about these conditions when I gave you the children's ages. Geraldine Bland

The flat had nice big rooms and everything was provided for you.

When we arrived the staff didn't know there were two cars coming for parking although I had informed them and didn't know what to do so we had to park at the side of the pub which wasn't good so the staff asked a regular from the pub to move his car to let us in then we got a mouthful of abuse from him not good at the best of times but we had a 9yr old with us, i did email the owner but got no reply, also we couldn't get the cars out of the car park on the Thursday as there was a big crain there all day blocking the entrance.

Everything The room was really bad the carpet was stained all over and felt disgusting to walk on some of the flooring in the bathroom was lifting there was water staining around one of the lights in hall. The whole place smelt of old smoke / old building. Some of the walls looked like it had damp on it. It’s loud from the pub downstairs. The only bed I checked to see how dirty it was, was suppose to be a double it was 2 singles pushed together. stayed in there long enough to book another place. Emailed the host to ask for the money back as it’s not Hygienic. The host replied no because they had to remake a bed ( the one I checked to see how dirty it was ) and I had checked out 2.5 hours after check in which I hadn’t. Max 30 mins stay whilst I found a clean lace to stay. Dishonest host dirty property.

It was the perfect place for our needs.

It was rather noisy from the bar downstairs. It didn't really bother us but if you wanted a quiet place to chill in the evening you might be disappointed?

Really helpful and friendly staff. Great location. Great as dogs are allowed.

Parking was extremely tight especially as we’ve a large estate car. Very noisy overnight as bar/nightclub underneath. Didn’t really affect us as we was very tired and the kids was shattered.

Central location, large spacious rooms, comfortable beds

Very noisy until 1am, as apartment is above a cafe / nightclub and the level crossing. There is damp/leak by the kitchen. Bedrooms need blackout blinds.
