Q Kata Residence

Close to Kata & Karon beaches. Convenient to walk to places and beach. Nice apartment with in-unit washer; no dryer, though drying rack on balcony. Nice infinity pool which overlooks the hills. Quick & easy communication with management—they are very responsive.

Be aware there is a $200 USD deposit on arrival which must be cash. There is also a charge for electricity and water usage on top of the booking cost that you will need to pay at checkout, which needs to be paid in Thai baht. The charge for electricity and water is 7 Thai baht per kilowatt hour. For our family’s 3-day stay, this totaled to be an additional $55 USD. Needing to pay these in cash was less convenient and these charges were not disclosed or made clear until after we had booked a nonrefundable room. Despite this, we had a pleasant stay.

This B&B really exceeded my expectations! Due to the flight delay, we arrived at the hotel late at night, but the front desk staff was waiting for us. The friendly attitude and quick and efficient check-in made me feel warm immediately. The room is large, the layout is modern and comfortable, and every detail is particularly attentive. It is clean and tidy, with complete supplies, and the refrigerator and washing machine are very clean. The shower water is also very big. I was worried about the water quality being sandy and yellow as mentioned on the Internet, but this B&B has none of these. In addition, the location of the B&B is also very advantageous, with shopping, entertainment, and night markets all available. It is very close to Kata Beach, about a 5-minute walk away, and the children like to play there very much. There are many massage shops downstairs, and you can go there to relax comfortably after a day of playing. The price is simply too affordable. If it weren't for the children's classes, we would have liked to stay a few more days. When we checked out, we paid the electricity bill for these few days, which was about the same as in China and completely acceptable. In short, I am very satisfied with this B&B. I will choose this place again when I come to the island next time, and I will also recommend it to my relatives and friends.

Unfortunately the bathroom has no window

The cleanliness, location, comfort, and general beauty of the property was exceptional. The hosts were also SO nice. They allowed me to check in 5 hours early as the place was available and we arrived in an early flight. I would highly recommend people to stay here. They even had a good gym facility and pool here. Loved this place.

My young son and I really enjoyed our stay at Q Kata. The Location and facilitates are excellent. Comfortable beds, full kitchen, large balcony, pleasant fixtures, etc. One thing I noticed was the quiet and efficient event air conditioning system. It is much better than the single units I’ve seen in other hotels. We also loved the pool! My son was in it for much of our stay. Basically everything (convenience stores, restaurants, beach, bars, open market…) are in a 5 or so minute walk. However, the hotel is set back from the street a little, so it was nice and quiet at night. The staff at Q Kata were super helpful and friendly. I think many of them live in the building, so they were always quick to respond. They were very nice to my son when he was sad that we had to leave. Just really soulful people who made our trip one of the most memorable of our lives. Thanks, Q-Kata! We can’t wait to return!

Great location with a sea view in the distance, also Mountain View. Pool with views and jacuzzi. Shops and restaurants right on the doorstep, also only a few minutes walk to the beach. Friendly host and very responsive with queries and problems, left sunglasses behind and they brought on to our next accommodation in a different town.

It’s a nice spacious property about a 5-10 minute walk from Karon Beach. It’s close to ATMs, mini marts, and restaurants.

Upon arrival I was told to put down a $200 deposit in case my electricity usage went above a certain value in which case I would be charged depending on how much electricity I used. I didn’t get charged upon checking out. But it’s still a weird policy to have in a hotel room. It should be noted that I was only sleeping in my room since I was out the entire day. Had I stayed in my room more time I might have been penalised with the electricity consumption charge. Another thing is that the deposit had to be in cash whether US Dollars or Thai Bhats, which made things a bit complicated. I stayed in my room 4 days and the room was never cleaned and garbage never collected.

Spacious 3 bedroom apartment. It was very close to walk down the drive to the shops, and only a few minutes walk to the beach. Great for families with teens, a good sized pool, table tennis table, and gym. Happy to recommend this accomodation. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The location is excellent with great views of the Ocean. Everything is within walking distance - beach, shops, cafes.

The mattress in the second bedroom was very hard and not comfortable to sleep on.
