Dove Cot country cottage Ambleside

There is not enough room to write how good our stay was. The place was exactly what we needed, the kitchen was very well put together and I found everything I needed with ease, everything was clean throughout and outside was breathtakingly beautiful I will 💯 be staying again. Ambleside is very close so this place is perfectly located while staying far enough away for the peace. I would love to see it after winter once the seasons change but snowy will be hard to beat. I could live in this cottage quite happily and highly recommend it. The communication from the lovely owner after placing the booking was very helpful and very much appreciated making finding the cottage very easy along with some extra bits of local knowledge which were also very helpful. Thank you for everything we very much enjoyed your property ☺️

We found the cottage very clean, with all homely appliances, was very warm and cosy, perfect for two. The garden / grounds are stunning and secure, brilliant for our two pooches. Dove Cot cottage was in a perfect location for local areas with a few little villages and towns close by. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.

Once we had setted in we found there was no hot water, we rang the maintenance man who was with us within 15 minutes and got the system working. He was very friendly, rectified the problem quickly and gave us some good tips on places to eat and places to go. So even though having no hot water was disappointing it was sorted very quickly.

Location is great, cottage is lively, warm and welcoming, bed is heavenly with lovely view out to garden and surrounding countryside l. Heating is very efficient as is the WiFi. Well equipped with everything you would need. Spa bath is a treat in nice modern bathroom. The garden is very close to the river, very spacious and peaceful. Had a theee night stay and loved it and definitely return and recommend.

The proximity to Ambleside and the surrounding area is ideal. The cottage was very warm and the facilities were great.

There's not a lot the owners could do to improve it, but it's quite tricky to see left and right (mainly left) while exiting the driveway entrance by car onto the main road.

Bad to get on and off the road from the cottage.Lots of chipped and well worn crockery.Bath very small and shower rail loose like the kitchen tap.Some light bulbs need replacing and the gate on the decking area was missing so u couldn't let your dogs out unattended.Basically it needs a tidy up and odd jobs attended to!

Comfortable and well equipped, a relaxed stay. Great if you have a dog - hard floors, plenty of space and you can walk from the door up the hill opposite.
