Mango Beach House

I immediately knew from the photos that I wanted to stay here. This was my third stop on a two week solo trip in the south of Zanzibar The morning coffee on the private terrace, the fresh and clean pool, the comfortable sunbeds and the beautiful beach. Everything is so nice and the Mango House is very quiet and intimate with only nine guest rooms creating a close atmosphere. Note that if you like a more quiet place, Jambiani or Paje are typical tourist spots and might not be for you. I travelled off season but there are still alot of people around, and it can be a bit noisy in the mornings/nights, if you care about that. The breakfast is really good with a good menu to choose from. The dinner menu is also nice. The dinner was a little hit and miss, but that was my experience all over Zanzibar. One dish youbreally like can be "just ok" the next day. The chicken curry was my favorite. Beth and Dullah har created a very beautiful little oasis of good energy, and if you feel drawn to this place it is probably a sign that you should pay them a visit. They (Beth, Dullad and the rest of the staff) are super warm, friendly and inclusive and they are all very attentive to your needs without ever being pushy. I had several nice and interesting conversations with Beth during my six nights and Mango House. I was unlucky enough to get sick on my last day (when I was supposed to leave) and ended up with a short hospital stay. Being alone, sick and so far away from home felt a little scary but Beth and Dullah took great care of me and made sure I got to the hospital and that I had a bed and safe people around me when I got back as I wasn't able to leave that day even if my stay was actually over. Beth has even been checking up on me for days after I left to make sure I felt better and got home safely. I really recommend this to anyone thinking about visiting Zanzibar.

We didn't have wifi for the last three days and the connection was not so good either (they were talking about maintenance so it might already have been sorted out) so if you depend on great connection you should check that in advance. I relied on the wifi from the next door restaurant for most of my stay.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the views were breathtaking. What truly made the experience special was the staff , they were polite, friendly, and always ready to help. Thanks to them, I felt completely at home.

Honestly, there wasn’t anything I didn’t like. Everything met or exceeded my expectations.

The Mango Beach house is amazing! The owners are super friendly and thoughtful and have amazing recommendations on what to visit in Zanzibar and organized tours. Everything was perfect in our stay! Thank you Beth and Dullah for receiving us at your place 😊

Wundervoller Aufenthalt in einer tollen Umgebung mit einer wundervollen Gastgeberin. Die Unterkunft hat einen fantastischen Spirit und das Essen ist wundervoll. Es ist definitiv die Unterkunft auf Zanzibar, die ich jedem empfehlen würde.

The minute you enter, it is paradise. The center-piece pool is divine - and it leads onto the most beautiful beach. Breakfast was a feast and the avocado's are heavenly. The menu is traditionally flavoured and delicious, I pretty much tried all the dishes and loved the local Machichi spinach dish. Its the staff and their attention and care that make it all so welcoming. The owners, Beth and Dullah have created a very special place that we will revisit.

I missed my cafe latte, but that's just minor. Zanzibar car hires! Don't bother - instead use local taxi's - Mango beach can assist with all the arrangement - this is far better than navigating the major pot holes and car ticket scams run by the traffic wardens. The sea urchins...very much recommend that you take soled water shoes! Nasty little buggers.

We will miss everything about being at Mango Beach House, the pool, the sunrises, the team, the food and the relaxed vibe.
