Bed horrible, room hot and stuffy, smelled bad, bad pillow No sockets or bedside lamps, no proper lockers, not even proper doors, could have been cleaner, staff wasn’t very helpful Too many people for common area, too few bathrooms, always missing toilet paper and seems like you have to run after staff to remind them to do their job in making sure things are clean and properly done WiFi bad I don’t understand the hype around it, it’s okay but there are definitely better hostels! Feels like a cheap hostel

Chill vibes and super relaxed. Breakfast is great and location is unbeatable. Super close to cute restaurants and the town square.

Location is excellent, staff is super nice! The vibe is really chill. I joined the sound healing, which was an interesting first experience.

Breakfast is good if you show up early, but doesn't get refilled. My first day I was there at 9 and the only food left was bread. Also my bed did not have an electricity socket.

Perfect location in the centre of Bacalar. Breathtaking view over the lagoon - I recommend to enjoy it with a coffee in the morning. Simple breakfast is included, so the price is very good. Staff is nice :-)

There could be more places to hang/dry clothes/towels in the room.

Very good value for money compared to other hostels in the area. Staff really friendly and helpful (particularly in sorting a taxi for me to the bus station). There was a temporary issue with the water supply during my stay which meant no running water at all for about 24 hours - but this not the hostel’s fault (a city issue) and they handled it as well as they could have. Very friendly dogs. Nice level of sociable - good to get to know some nice people and then go to Che to drink/party. There was a lovely family dinner when I was there too.

Facilities need a little bit of work (and to be fair, I think they are working on them, but this meant there was quite a bit of construction going on when I was there). Even when the water issue was fixed the toilets didn’t flush very well. It was also difficult to find the property as there’s no sign on the main road. Also, left my laundry but it wasn’t taken for over 24 hours (I think partly because of the water issue) so I ended up taking it to a laundry myself. Overall think it’s got brilliant potential but needs a little bit more work!

Nice common spaces, WiFi in garden area strong enough for video meetings, simple free breakfast

Rooms were so hot and stuffy, so small, not very clean, so I had a hard time sleeping. There is only one shower / toilet for all the non en-suite rooms.
