Rutland Hall Hotel & Spa

Location location location! We were upgraded to a junior suite, delightful with a view over the lake with easy access to the restaurant and leisure facilities. The room was very spacious with a balcony to sit out on a summers evening.

Sadly no room service but you could order takeaway food and take drinks from the bar back to your room. Only disappointment really.

The location was amazing and the staff were friendly.

I paid to check in from 12pm and the room wasn't ready until 1pm

The location (we've stayed before). Onsite parking. Respectful of environment. Comfortable beds. Effective showers with grabrails. Good choice at serve yourself breakfast. Helpful staff. The onsite crazy golf, putting and swim pool.

We were in a cosy double which was comfortable and suitable for our requirements. However could hear noise like a washing machine on cycle in late evening. We checked with hotel reception if we were next to laundry room. We weren't, and they sent a supervisor to check it out. We were moved to Oakham, still a cosy double but comfortable and no noise (which remains a mystery). So extremely obliging hotel staff.

Location is lovely with nice views. Attractive dining room with good breakfast.

Overall, areas of the property are looking quite tired and in need of repair/updating. Our room had a view of a brick wall and staff did walk by which meant we had to close the curtains. The room offered scant lighting offered by 3 lamps only therefore it was very dark. We had to keep bathroom door open wide to allow some light in. On our second night we heard a noise similar to a washing machine filling every 30 seconds which lady opposite us also heard! Very distracting!

We had a view of the water.The room was spacious and we particularly liked having a fridge in the room.The staff were very pleasant and helpful and we had a lovely meal in the restaurant.

The automatic gratuity on the meal without it being pointed out. Prefer to give a cash tip based on service.
